I did like the Flex 3401 because of the forced rotation however. So will be getting one.

I am planning on downgrading my PC to a Damp Sanding tool, for paint and or headlights.

After sanding, I then would switch to my Rotary for buffing out the sanding on headlights.

And for paint I'd use my Flex 3401 to remove any holograms, mostly for jet black paint (if It gets to the point of sanding) but for metallic like silver the finish comes out nice using a Rotary IMO. But then there is the Denim pads to remove the orange peel for repaints.

So many option :D

Thank you! I have never used a flex and I would love to get one. Maybe someday. I still use my pc a lot but there is just sometimes its just not gonna cut it. Anyway PM me sometime I am wondering about the Denim pads.

Amazing work, definitely had your work cut out for ya! It continues to baffle me that people let their car get in that kinda shape...

I go bowling on Thursday nights and every time I arrive, there sits this really cool 2004? Mustang Cobra that is just in unbelievable terrible shape (paint wise). Amazingly, glancing at it, I don't think I see any clear coat failure, BUT, it looks worse (minus chips) than this car. :eek: The paint is so dull, there is minus shine on it. (It is red as well.)
I briefly talked to the guy about it last week and he said he hasn't washed it but maybe a handful of times and says that the couple of times he's waxed it, "It just gets dirty too fast so I don't bother with it, plus I don't drive it much. Oh, it a classic and only 2K were made." I was just astonished he didn't take better care of it as it would look really nice cleaned up properly. I'm going to offer my services this week explaining that I won't just wash and wax it but will evaluate it, fully inspect the paint's condition and safely restore what clearcoat is left and bring it back to it's "classic" look once again. I know it would be a challenge to work on but would love to see this car back to it's former glory. If this happens, I'll of course do a complete write up.
Sorry for the little hijack! :hijacked: Your write-up just reminded me of this Cobra I see every week that makes me cringe every Thurs night and he parks right up front!

I was thinking the same thing at first but I believe its wax per his statement above the picture...

"As I was wiping off the wax I had to snap some pics of the hood. A huge difference of gloss and reflection after the 18 years of neglect"
 
It is (faded) red. I didn't get a chance to speak to him last week but for sure will this week. I'll acquire more information about it this Thurs. Don't want to push him too much but would really like to see the Cobra looking as it should.
