I took a trip down to Nashville TN after receiving an email from the owner of this beautiful 97 Viper GTS. He had seen some of the other Vipers that I've done and wanted his brought back to the condition that it deserved to be in.

Let's begin this by looking at what the car looked like before hand.

This owner requested to have the engine degreased, so I used some Megs Super degreaser and agitated with various brushes, then rinsed and treated with 303 protectant.

Next I started on the wheels, I always start with the wheels to prevent water from having to sit on the paint surface and cause water spots.

Super Degreaser for the fender wells

Sonax Full Effect for the wheels. This wheel cleaner is a pH balance wheel cleaner that is safe for all types of wheels and brakes. It sprays on bright green and once it reacts with the Iron particles of the brakes, it then turns a dark red color signaling to you that is is working.

Using various brushes such as, Wheel woolies, EZ Detail bruch, Swissvax brush, I agitated the wheels to help dislodge the grime.

Next it was time to pre rinse the car, I do this to help dislodge any heavy or loose debris. you dont want to drag any dirt and grime across the paint causing more defects.

Then the car was given a foam bath.

Then the car was dried and brought in to be clayed and taped off.

I used LC cyan and surbuff pads with megs m105 on my Griots 6in DA for the cutting. For polish I used the D300 on a tang pad.

The car was then sealed with Black Fire Wet Diamond, while that was curing I shined the tires with optimum opti-bond and cleaned the windows using Meguiars Window cleaner. These three products alone are a must have to try.

and here are the Final Sun Shots

I used to like that color.....

But now I love it! Awesome work!
Did you do anything special to the gas cap?

Nope, nothing can be done. it wouldn't budge, Ive tried on other vipers too, some are worse then others.

(If anyone has any tricks for this, please let me know)

Great work and great documentation with the pictures. I always enjoy looking at your work. I like your bucket too.

How do you put the frames around your photos? Photo program? The frame makes your pictures look even better.

Hey Eric,

What a gorgeous resurrection of a classic Dodge Viper. The blue with the white stripes are legendary colors on the race circuit and the final results are stunning...:props:

Nice work, Eric. Stop and say hi in Cookeville on your way sometime.

Chris,
I was going to swing by on the way home, but I didn't leave Nashville until midnight, so it would have been to late to bother you again. lol

I blow 95% of it off with my metro blower. the rest takes time and a microfiber to get out of cracks

Man, that is a great job right there! Looks beautiful. Nice work getting the holograms out.

nice work, what pad/chemical did you use on the tail lights?

Amazing work on an equally amazing car! Thanks for sharing with us!! :props:
