A bit disappointed in my "Free Gift"

I'm about to make a $630 order. I'm using the "Mechandise Credit" code for purchasing a polisher pack. How do I get the free gift also? :buffing:

It was a part of their promotion on that day :D

Would you have been just as happy without the free gift? It seems as if the products you received for FREE have upset you more than no gift at all. I would offer it to a customer of yours or ship it to a newbie here that would be MORE THAN HAPPY to use the products that you were charged $0.00 for.

Just sayin', there are much more things to get upset about than posting up your dissatisfaction for a product you received for free, along with the products that you did order and receive.

... Maybe some of you guys like these products but being a professional I find these meguiars ultimate products to be sub par and useless...

That one sentence in itself wreaks of narcissism... "I'm a professional..." (paraphrased) Big deal! And then on top of your narcissistic nature you've doubled-down with ungratefulness. Just the character traits I'd search for in a prospective service provider. Dude, if you're truly a professional I'd suggest trying to improve your communication skills a bit.

And for the record, I have found many of the Meguiar's Ultimate products to be very functional. But then again, I'm no "professional" so what could I know?

I'll take em off your hands since Meg's isn't good enough for you.

Dude, Meg's is good stuff. The Ultimate line is marketed toward people that don't have hours upon hours of experience detailing, or want performance and value. For a lot of people picking up a bottle of Ultimate Compound or Ultimate Wax, it may be the first time they are introduced to the Meguiar's product line. They aren't going to put skin lotion in a tube and say here ya go, rub-a-dub a lil of this on your paint and make mojo happen. The Ultimate line is in fact formulations derivitive of their pro line for the most part. Just a lil safety margin built in so joe detailer doesn't hack his dad's Camaro's clear coat. If I recieved a free gift of Ultimate products, I would be inspired to put them to work for the greater good of some neglected paint surface.

I spent $2,456.88 this month on AG and got a can of spray clay. My first instinct wasn't to come on the forums and groan. I mean I can sort of understand if you intentionally spent more than you wanted for the free gift, but if they don't specify then it's always a gamble.

Gotta take calculated risks. Don't get upset if you break even on a lottery ticket.

WHOA!...Wait a minute!

After seeing what you have on
this "bottom-shelf display":

You then have the unmitigated gall to complain
about your free receipt of a particular Meguiar's
product line-up's car-care products...the receipt,
of which, is solely due to Autogeek's behest?

That is simply ludicrous...
and has absolutely no merit, IMHO.

:smh:

Bob

You got all those bottles of Megs stuff for free and you are complaining?

I mean, it's prolly not my favorite stuff either, but I'm pretty excited to get anything for free - no less a bunch of bottles...

Are you a troll?

I need not say anymore!

I have an excellent picture of a free horse's teeth I can send you.

Hate to see you there crying about the free items, I'm just getting started. I'm disabled, hoping I can make this work. I want to order some things but I will have to get by with what l've got. So, if you want to send your disappointed free gifts my way, I'll gladly accept them.

I am just playing Devil's Advocate here.

While this may be true, I think the point the OP is trying to make is that he just spent $800 on, for lack of better words, "high quality" products (Menzerna), so I am fairly certain he is not interested in the best "bang for the buck" products, or those products that are great for someone just getting into detailing.

With that being said, OP can try to sell the package on a site like eBay or CraigsList, or as mentioned, try to trade it in the samples thread on this website.

I worked with a guy that had a $6,000 Dale Earnhardt tool box loaded with tools. He sucked didn't know how to do a dam thing with all those "expensive" tools. I could do better body metal work with a claw hammer and a brick. I'm not implying anything or directing my post toward the OP whatsoever just replying to the quote above.

I would love the Ultimate Liquid Wax...I haven't tried it yet. But I think you should send it to cleanerfreak and let him share his thoughts on it with us.

Besides getting paid for some level of performance...
The term pro, at least when it comes to, let say:
detailing, can have many definitions and connotations:
especially on what is considered by many to be an
enthusiasts' forum.

I also keep in mind that many of those that detail
for a living purchase their products in bulk from
PBEs and Jobber trucks. Their offerings sometimes
are, and sometimes are not, the same products that
are often seen and read about here on AGO.

Meguiar's just so happens to be one such Brand that
has product-lines that can be purchased at many
different types of vending arenas.

Bob

Megs works for the pro's. The company I work for distributes finishing products for the automotive collision industry. 80% of our compounds and detail products are 3m and Meguiars for good reason. They work awesome. The more descreet brands out there work awesome too. They just don't have the huge market share Meguiars enjoys because they either haven't been established as long, aren't manufactured stateside, or don't do anything more than any of the other brands do. All we are buying are products that are a means to an end. How you get there is up to you. True, some products do actually work better than others, but it makes me wonder why Meguiars is on the top of that list time amd time again. It wasn't fancy packaging or a slick sales slogan. Companies like Menzerna, Scholl, and even Sonax would do well if they had better distribution channels in the works. Right now if you need one of these products you have to go online and wait for your stuff. The pro's I work with get their stuff when they want it the same day delivered to them free of charge. They don't buy online. If one of these German companies picked up a large distributor, or made their products stateside, you might see them gain market share. But until 3m who owns Megs, or Megs themselves start putting skin care products into their stuff I doubt any of that is going to happen. And that puts me back to saying stick with what you like and use it.

My post supports exactly what you posted...

I used Meguiars Ultimate Compound just yesterday and it did a fantastic dust free correction on a lightly swirled vehicle, and I have other more expensive compound products in my detailing cart.
