As a newcomer, I haven't earned the privilege of attending. I wonder if I might be considered an alternate should you not reach the suggested 20-25 attendees limit?

Newcomer or not, all are welcome!!!

From my previous experiences of these type of events, if 20 sign up usually 15-17 will show up. It seems things come up at the last moment that are beyond ones control. Life happens. I will say that every event such as this I have gone to has been well worth it. So step up and fill in those slots. You won't regret it.

Definitely true. That's exactly why I said let's get 22-25 signed up, that way we'll probably have a total of 20 or so show up. Even if it's 25, it's not too much over the maximum. I wish I could invite many more, but seeing as we'll have only 2-3 cars to work with and based on what we all plan on doing/learning it seems 20 is just about right.

***LITTLE SIDE NOTE FOR THE CHICAGOLAND GUYS***

There's a HUGE hang out/cruize night tomorrow at the Toyota/Scion dealership in Palatine tomorrow. Its mostly imports and I went to this 2 weeks ago and there was well over 500 cars there, cool crowd too! It officially starts at around 6 but get there early or ontime if you wanna park in there for sure. The dealership does a great job organizing this too, if there's a spot to park, they'll find it for you. More info is on JDMChicago, hope to see some of you AG's out there, I'll be parked right where the carwash entrance is, can't miss my car!

For any member in the Indianapolis area that would be interested , I will have room to bring someone to the get-together in my crew cab pick-up.

Will you guys just go ahead and meet already? Lol. Just kidding. Hope you guys have a good time.

Looks like the list is filling up and Sept 23rd is the day, surely Ivan would like to see that 20 count before its "official" and its getting there.

Btw Ivan, do we have a car to do yet?

My sister has an EXTREMELY beat up 01 or 02 Celica that could be used as a demo car, but I'm thinking for 20 or so people it would probably be best to have 2, so that 6-7 people can work on each at a time doing different stuff. I guess once we nail down exactly what we'll be doing during this meet, we'll know how many cars, etc. we need.

Roger why don't you shoot me an email with some ideas on the meet so we can start brainstorming. Connor is doing some thinking himself and we'll be talking next week as he's extremely busy this week. My email is [email protected]. Thanks

If anyone else has input please post in this thread regarding what you'd like to see happen at the meet, etc.

Wondering what I could contribute to the get together ? Items I have that might be of interest include
M101
Sonax Perfect Finish
LC new microfiber pads
Optimum microfiber pads.
3D products: HD Speed,HD polish,Uno,Proxy.
Garry Deans Premium Detailing :Tire Gel,Solitaire AIO, Infinite use Detail Juice.
Meguiars #16,D300.
BlackFireMidniteSun,Wolfgang Fusion
Dyna Brade da/rotary attachment
Griots , Meguiars 6"da's Griots 3" da
Nanoskin Prep towel
VX5000 steamer
4'or 6' folding table

I have tried to think of items someone new to detailing might not of tried or purchased yet. Everyones input and ideas are welcome.

I also have access to a few old hoods and various dented panels from a friends body repair shop.Space in my truck will not be a problem.

Looks like we'll have 2 cars to work on and with everyone taking a panel, splitting the hood, roof and trunk into sections there's plenty to go around, everyone will get a turn to do their correction for sure. I think each vehicle can be washed and dried by the team, making that part especially quick. Once that's done, we can each clay, polish, wax/seal our panel or section, one things for sure, there's going to be many, many LSP's on those cars, LOL;-)

I think the actual date thread should go up pretty soon or do we wanna wait till there's 20? The above is my suggestion for the event, would love to hear more idea's. I also thought a table of "trying other products" would be cool too, maybe draw names and go over to the table and take a new/used product home with you. Really looking forward to seeing all the rides too!

I think we can make a new thread with the date and just copy/paste the current latest list. Also make sure to link to the new thread in this one so people get a heads up about it.

Otherwise, I think that sounds like a good idea... doing different sections on a car and everyone trying different products.

Alright Ivan, I will make up a new thread for our event, probably on Sunday sometime as I work late tonight, turn around and work days tomorrow and have my buddy's birthday party stuff to attend in the evening, so needless to say, I'll be nowhere infront of a keyboard proper for the next couple days. Speaking of my buddy, I'm going to try and bring him with me in hopes things rub off on him and he takes his detailing to the next level. I just got him some DG rinseless wash, DG AquaWax, a new measureable 5 gallon bucket and 2 grit guards, along with a reg grout sponge and the famous Aqua Sponge, so he's on his way........I hope!

Everyone else, looking forward to putting a name with a face and last but not least, how about a round of applause for our host Ivan, his shop is in the top 10 in the country, what an honor!
