My good friend, his son and I took a couple of his old Porsches up to Sebring for some fun on the track today. Both of us perfer not to wreck one of our new cars. One guy in a new Vette did hit the wall and tare up the front of his car. My friend is able to lift one car and put it on one of his business trucks using his liftgate and some custom ramps he had made. We put another car in my trailer and pulled it with his truck. There were some very nice cars there and I took some pictures inbetween sessions for my AG Forum friends. It looks like it's time for me to detail my trailer again.

Truls, It was not a race just organized track time for experienced drivers. There were 2 different groups of drivers based on experience. The type of car driven did not matter. So there were a lot of different types of cars in the 2 classes. There are rules for passing and you have to let the faster cars pass. I did see one Evo there. This is the only look you were ever get of me Truls: ;)

Nica, I drove both a Porsche 928 and a 924 Turbo.

Jimmie / Nica - I'm glad you both enjoyed the pictures. I got up a 3:30 AM this morning to go to the Track. We got to Sebring at 6:00 am, had breakfast then when to the track and unloaded the cars. Registration was at 7:00 am. It was a long day but it's always a lot of fun to get some track time.

I wish my weekend was at the track and not at work. Thanks for the pictures Gary, looks like a you alot of fun. Did you get any pictures of the damage to the vette?

Looks like fun.....very nice cars out there! Yah, leave the Lamborghini at home.

Strokin04 - I didn't get pictures of the crashed Vette. I was driving in the same session when he crashed into the wall in turn 3. I did see the car latter when it was off the track but I never had my camera with me at the time.

Dennis - There were some very nice cars out there. There were also some teams practicing complete with a team of mechanics. I'm talking millions of dollars in cars and equipment.

I still think you need to get a new Z06 and hook me up with your vette;)

Dennis, I have been thinking about getting a new car. A Porsche Turbo, GT3, 08 Viper or a Z06. I was kind of leaning towards a new Porsche Turbo but the past week I've leaning more towards getting a new Z06 or Viper and getting and older Porsche to drive on the track. For the price of a new Porsche Turbo or GT3 I can get a new Z06 or Viper and an older Porsche 911.

All that and you said nothing about the future of your current vette:p haha.... Well, don't get rid of it before you contact me first:D Be sure to let us know what you get when you do.

J/K about your vette, I know you've had it for 23 years or so. But IF you ever do want to sell it......let me know:)

Sorry Dennis, even if I purchase a new Z06 I will still keep my old Vette. It's like an old friend I can't get rid of. If you do want to buy and older Vette a C4 is a very good choice right now. There are some nice ones out there for a very good price. Right now they are a the bottom of the depreciation curve and I think you will only see the price go up from here.

Oh, I already knew you were keeping it, just putting a bug in your ear:p lol...

Yeah, I might look for an older one in good shape/low miles in a couple of years.

This is all you;)

Dennis, There were a number of Z06's at the track yesterday. Here is a shot of a couple. Notice the tape on the front of the car and in front of the wheel wells. A lot of the people who do take new cars to the track tape up there cars to protect them (good idea). It's common to use painters tape then put duck tape over the painters tape. Taking a car to the track is really hard on it.

Surfer, I forgot to ask my friend about the 928. There were a lot of radicals at the track yesterday. I love those cars. There were some in the same sessions I drove it. They're unbelievable in the turns. The guys with the black #32 and red #66 radicals were setup right buy us and I talked quite a bit with them. They had a couple of laptops hook up to the black #32 running diagnostics when I was talking to them. Very Cool. There are some more pictures from yesterday in another post if you are interested.

its old, but always fun to watch

It's an old video but still fun to watch Truls. It would be even better if the quality of the video was better. I had seen it before. Some of the videos do give you a sense of what it's like to drive on a track but nothing like actually driving on one. Have you ever taken your Evo on the track Truls?
