I like coal power. That is how they get its power ultimately.

#2 pic is kwpower

COLE PWR as well

Might make a few people stop and think that EVs don't actually run on Pixie Dust

Hilarious

I’m old enough to remember the Vega vs Pinto days

Ahhh, memories . . . spent many hours in HS in my buddy's Vega adjusting our attitudes while listening to Marshall Tucker Band on the old 8 track . . . :xyxthumbs:

I think there is a law reserving FYR HZRD for the Chevy Volt...

;)

I didn't catch those went self-igniting as well. I just remember the old video of a Model S in a shanghai parking ramp where all of a sudden smoke just starts rolling out from under it and it goes up in a flash.

It was one of those “how dumb do you think people are” moments

The Volts were igniting left and right and so what does Chevy do?

Why they offer deep discounts that’s what

I guess you got a great price and if you were lucky enough to get it in for the recall before it ignited then hooray for you

GM Recalls Every Chevy Volt Vehicle Ever Made Over Battery Fire

There were many electrical issues other than simply bursting into flames

That article refers to Bolts and Volts, interchangeably. I believe the recall you are referring to is this one, regarding the Bolt: Recall: All Chevy Bolts for Fire Risk | NHTSA. I don't see any battery-related recalls for the Volt.

I looked at some other articles and I guess the VOLT battery didn't spontaneously burst into flames, it only did that if you got in a certain type of collision

So basically the Pinto all over again

IDK...

Well, certainly some Tesla fires also from certain collisions. I had a friend who was very anti-lithium batteries, because of the runaway thermal failure mode. You may remember the Boeing 777 or 787 that burned a hole in top of the fuselage from a lithium battery fire, I think that occurred when parked, fortunately. I recall that was the one that my friend had a canary over.

It is for that very reason that I have a hard time getting anything containing a LI-ION battery delivered to Alaska and it was the same in Hawaii

So many things couldn't or wouldn't get shipped by air

The last iPhones we traded in a few months ago came with prepaid return shipping labels and boxes and I tried dropping them at the self serve kiosk in the lobby of the local post office and they wouldn't scan for some reason

I waited in line and when the guy helped me he told me it was because they had to hand accept anything like that with lithium batteries and do extra paperwork

They left Alaska by ground (ocean really) and took several weeks to get back to ATT

Yeah, that and the aerosol cans with flammable stuff...didn't some of this start when they had a FedEx plane that caught fire in-flight?

That sounds familiar
