So I needed to get new business cards since I moved home. Somehow when I moved to Florida I lost all my St. Louis Cards. When I was in FL I found a guy that made me 1000 cards full color 2 sided with UV for $40. When I moved back up here I called him and asked him how much 5000 would be and he said $80 plus shipping. After shipping it came to $95. He told me it would be 4-7 days till the cards were done plus 2-4 on shipping and I asked him if there was any other way to speed the process up? He told me I could pay $20 extra for rush plus pay the difference to over night them. The grand total was $135 and I said OK. I ordered them on Monday the 23 and they should have been done and mailed out by Wed the 25 at the latest. I payed through PayPal because of the protection they offer. On Friday I called and never received a phone call back or anything. At around 9pm Friday night I opened a dispute with PayPal. I finally got the cards on Friday June 2nd! The guy mailed them on the 1st. Ok whatever at least I have my cards now. There were 3 things he needed to change, 1 was my phone number, 2 was my website and 3 he was to take a slogan off the back and replace it with 'present this card and receive 10% off'. I opened the box and it was a complete mess! He had just thrown all the cards in the box so some of the cards where bent and some of the edges were bent too. All and all prob 95% of the cards were in decent condition. When I looked at them I noticed he didn't remove the slogan form the back of the card which really ticked me off. Then to top that off the idiot misspelled a word for my website. He spelled mobile 'moble'. I escalated the claim and got an email this morning saying they couldn't go in my favor, so I called them. They said, they were sorry and that even if it was wrong they can't do anything because it is a 'custom' item. I was pissed. I mean I thought I was going to be ok going through PayPal and all but I guess not. I'm done with my little rant but does anyone have any suggestions??

Wow that really sucks. I don't see why they can't protect you on custom orders? And Paypal should make that perfectly clear when you decide to use their service. I hope this guy mans up and fixes it for you, but for some reason I doubt he will. Maybe you should try Vista print, they have always done well for me.

Tell ya the truth man, I swear to myself I would never use PayPal again. I had nothing but bad experiences with them in the past. I found out that Ebay bought them out, so Ebay owns PayPal. I'm sure your not the only one who deals with this BS.

I have no choice to open a paypal account in order to buy and sell on Ebay. What I do now is soon as the money goes through I transfer it to my own account. Ebay charges ridiculous fees for selling and PayPal charges just to have it transfered to their account. Ebay and Paypal are not even worth using anymore. Problem is that you cant find what you need for cheap prices unless its on Ebay. So it seems like we are all stuck using both services.

To me sounds like you got screwed over by both companies and the seller. My suggestion don't ever order anything custom made from ebay. You will have to take it as a lesson learned. If he has a return policy I would return them ASAP, and maybe you might get rein-burst?

Don't you guys ask for a proof before you authorize a custom printing job?? Maybe I'm just old-fashioned.

It wasn't eBay. As far as the proof goes I didn't think I needed one. He had done the card previously and I had emailed him the info I needed changed. Seemed pretty straight forward but I guess not.

Paypal is useless..I cant stand using them..They offer NO protection really..I bought a camera lens once..The guy shipped to me..i paid $500 for it i get it and he didnt put it in any box other then the one it would be on the shelf with..Anyway the rear mount of the lens was smashed in..so it needed repaired..Also in pics he had online it kinda didnt show that and I KNOW it didnt happen in shipping because it comes in a big foam case as well..He also decided to NOT insure a lens of that value...HMMM wonder why cause he knew it was broke..I opened a claim with paypal..and basically as soon as I escalated the case they closed it..Basically telling me they dont care the condition the lens was when i got it..I got it in the mail and they are not helping out. So I had to pay another $150 to get it repaired..After that I pretty much hate paypal with a passion. I also purchased this off a forum member on the Canon site with over 3000post and who was a long time member..I thought it would have been safe

While we're correcting grammatical issues, here are some periods for you to use.......

Oh, and for the love of God, it's losing!

Lose = To not win.
Loose = What you don't want in a wife.

:laughing:

Back on topic. Yes, Paypal is terrible to work with. What action have you taken with the company that made the cards for you? There's no question that those errors will hurt your business, more than they'll help. If a civil phone call doesn't fix things, you might consider having an attorney draft a letter to the company.

Do you have any extra commas?:laughing:

Did you pay with your paypal balance, or just use paypal as a means for the transaction? If you used a card to pay through paypal contact the bank and file a claim, its much better than what papal has to offer.

If you guys didn't already know, as long as the seller has proof of shipment, there is nothing paypal will do. Even if you bought the biggest diamond in the world and the seller ships you a brick.

Lol u guys are funny. I'll work on the paragraphs.

I paid 135 to have a lawyer write a letter I better it would cost more.
