A love affair with my old school buffer ......

Flash,
If Joe already has it, I'd like to buy it. Somewhere around the house I think I still have a working VCR. Still slinging my old Rockwell rotary from the 70's.

Bill

Okay

VCR's ROCK!!! :righton:

I also have the VHS tape that came with the bottle of Medallion Wax. Who remembers that??

I easily have 3-4 production tapes, still new in the box and I'm pretty sure I have some first runs for proofing before it went into production.

Lots of great information in that video that's still relevant and useful today.

When I typed out the script I had a keyboard that was really loud, that is every time I hit a key it would make a loud *clack* sound. Some days it would sound like a machine gun was going off in my office and I'm confident I drove my co-workers up the wall.

I miss that keyboard just because of the sound but I love my MS full size ergo keyboards...

:D

I got that one and the antique bottles of Medallion to go with it including the very rare green label versions.

I haven't watched the tape in years. Are you the star of the show on this tape I speak of Mike? If so, and if you dont have a copy, maybe I should be giving this to you?

I wasn't aware this tape would have so much intrest :)

Mike Pennington is the guy on the cover and in all of their video work since I can remember. I think I make a cameo in it as well as Tom McDonald and his wife, maybe a few others...

I have copies as a record of my work, you can do with yours as you will...

Thanks though...

Now you've got me wanting to watch it again

Joe, if you don't want it I'll send it to BillyJack

:)

Very kind of you to offer the tape to me but if Billy will benefit from the information he should have it. Thank you for the offer

Wow, what an awesome collection of polishers!! Love it. I still use the term "wheel out the paint", LOL. I remember one of my first, was a fixed speed of 3000 rpm. You had to feather the trigger to get it to go lower. These machines have come a long way. Thanks so much for sharing, including the literature.

I'll be the first if you throw in a 2nd one free if you only pay the S/H on it. LOL.

Come on, Richy, you're better than this!

That's a term that should be reserved for body shops and hacks as a red flag that they don't know what they're doing/talking about.

I have one of those old redheaded Milwaukees under the bench gathering dust Joe. If you want, I would be happy to send it to ya.

Paul that is an awesome gesture!!!! Props to you!!!:props: This is one of the reasons I love this Forum!!! Goodwill and Friendship....I hope you get back ten-fold what you are giving out!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

Joe that is an impressive collection you have!!! I think I may have a new interest now in buffer collecting.

Charlie, I've been doing this for 2 decades. The old terms just stick.

Oh man... taking me back in time...

I wrote the entire script for that video. I finished out at 60,000 words and we edited it down to around 40,000 words. Almost the entire video is shot in Voice Over so the script had to be reviewed and approved.

I also wrote the front, back and spine copy. It was one of my first projects when I went to work for Meguiar's the second time as their Corporate Writer. I also worked on the set for the entire shoot with Mike Pennington, the featured host of the video. Good times...

Here's a little better shot of it...

I just love the history in this thread. From Joe's collection to finding out Mr. Phillips has worked for Meguire's twice. How cool is that? Mr. Phillips, you never got around to telling me in our phone conversation that you worked for them twice. I am still telling people I meet, who are car guys, how your polishing skills and writing skills landed you a dream job. It gives me inspiration to persue my own writing, and now my skills of working with my hands in a different venue. I can only imagine how it felt to be getting that union card that day...then to receive that once in a lifetime phone call. Awesome story...simply awesome.

Joe,
I always appreciate your posts and how you put things into proper perspective with your signature line. That is, thanking the Lord for all your many blessings, and not being afraid, or ashamed to proclaim it.
