It was recommended that one use a new pad for every section that way you get the best shine everytime and don't have to clean even one pad in the pad washer.
Is this a good idea?

It really all depends on condition of paint, whether your doing a heavy cut or a polish, applying wax or sealant, etc,
For heavy cutting I can get away with 2 or 3 pads if I clean them on the fly. For polishing I've always been able to get away with 2 pads. Fine polishing, jeweling, or applying wax or sealant should only take 1 pad.

The quality of your decontamination work and the hardness of the paint your working on will also affect pad usage.

Really depends:

-How many panels does this "Recommender" say any given vehicle will have (OK...on average).

-Does the "Recommender" consider auto-glass surfaces as panels?

-Is the "Recommender" willing to help defray the costs associated with the purchase of the amount pads that is determined to be necessary to complete a paint-correction, on all of the panels, that involves compounding, several polishing steps, and LSP application(s)?
(That's at least 4 different times/steps around the vehicle)

-Will auto-glass polishing pads be recommended?

-Which party will own the pad washer:
You, the ""Recommender", or both?

Just curious:
Is the "Recommender" responsible for recommending that you implore AGO for an Easter Sale?

Hmm...
Some very good points.
It'll be for motorcycles.
No glass to do, clear polycarbonate plastic though.
All costs are on me alone.
How did you guess about the last one?
