This afternoon...The Wife and I took a pleasant, 1.5 hour drive up to Bud's Chevrolet, in St. Mary's, Ohio,
to take a look at their new 2013 Corvette convertibles that are decked out in the special 60th Anniversary trim.

Here's a few photos...

BTW...Pretty nice Corvette model---but we're not taking the bait.

Those do look nice...I don't think I have ever seen a dealer store cars inside like that before...but I guess they are Corvettes, after all.

But if you happened to see the 427 Convertible, you would take the bait. Such a nice car in person.

He usually has this warehouse and a couple of other buildings full.
But Bud's (as well as other Corvette dealerships) inventory is down due to the
Bowling Green assembly plant currently not being able to keep up with the demand
for the C6's during its final (and abbreviated) year in production.

HMMM...What's all this fuss about a bad economy during this current election-cycle, anyway?

Bud's had some of those, also...but not in the special 60th Anniversary trim.

Still won't bite though...Not enough HP/Torque, for me!

Nice looking car, what's the premium for the 60th anniversary package? Not sure I'm fond of the blue top?

The 427 in that color scheme (60th) will become a collectors item. I would love one, but wifey says NOT until kids are away in college. Suppose thats because the black one now in the garage only has 12k miles.

the challenge is much higher CAFE standards are coming and smaller engines and turbo's are becoming more common. We are likely seeing one of the last 427's in existence, and the convertible with it has been more than 30-40 years in the making.

Over the weekend I may have fallen in love with a Callaway 427 60th that we saw at Carlisle. That, and the Night Race Blue Metallic 427. Oh, and the 2013 B2K RPO was equally brilliant.

Okay, I fell in love with all of them. It was surprisingly easy!

Hope that you had a great day with the Mrs.
Awesome piece of American ingenuity!!!

Did you stop for a 'nilla cone at the "Tastee Treat"?

Has the corvette changed in the past 12 years? Geez that car is in need of a style update.

Thanks! I did!

And How!!

We had a "Chicago-style" pizza (but not like Geno's East) at the Beer Barrel Restaurant in St. Mary's.
Waited for ice-cream until we got to the Dairy Creme (Fat Rats :D) in Vandalia, across from the airport.

Nice little trip to take a gander at some of the last production C6's.

:)

^^^Yes.^^^

Geez that car is in need of a style update.
^^^^
I'm going to withhold any judgement of that nature until next Spring, or so,
when I see the results of the final restyling-efforts for the C7.
Test mules' appearances and artists' concepts don't count in my book.

There is (was???) a foundry nearby and a ceramics plant, maybe US Tile, I dunno, anyways good people in St.Mary's.

Will post a pic Friday of an '84 Vette under cover since Pop passed - on NWoD.
Luckily I have my 3 monkeys.

I'll have check on this...
Lots of manufacturing businesses/jobs have gone
by the wayside in Ohio the past few years

Can't wait to see how the monkeys react to the '84 Vette's curtain-call!

I agree. For some reason, the Vette always looks outdated to me. Then again, I drive a Transformer.
