NG here, just signed up yesterday but have been reading for about 2 months. My question to the military folks; is it cheaper to buy the PC from Home Depot or Lowes since they give a 10% military discount? I realize I'll have to buy the backer plates separately but was wondering if it made better money sense to buy from them vice AG.

Thanks

Well if you have to buy plates and pads separately, why not just order everything you need from AutoGeek during a sale?

I went the even cheaper rout and bought a HF DA polisher locally. I then used my discount here to get the backing plates and pads. The polisher works great.

AFAIK they don't sell the PC at Lowe's anymore, and never sold it at Home Depot.

Thank you for the responses. HD does carry them ([
It may be more economical to buy a package deal when AG has on of their sales.

I'd contact nick, or anyone AG for that matter, they price match!

First off - thanks for your service.

Second - the model you see at the Home Depot isn't the automotive model but the polishing model for construction. Check the model #s and the PC website to see the differences. Might work but I'd go with all stuff from AGO so you know it all fits right.

Wait for the 20% off and free shipping discount through AG.

Get a list going and be ready. Sign up for the emails.

I agree with above. Catch a 20% sale from AG & snag everything at once. BTW, I've been able to get the 10% military discount from HD by threatening to take my business to Lowes. That "L" word works wonders!

get the GG6, you'll be happier in the long run...

if you get it from HD or Lowes, you'll have to pay sales tax so depending on where you live, 10% isn't going to make much of a difference. Sales tax in NYC is 8.875% so 10% off is meaningless. I wait for AG sale, get free shipping and no tax and maybe even a free gift. Just got the Flex with the 15% no exclusions sale :xyxthumbs:

I didn't think you could get the discount online. I agree that the flex on sale is the way to go.

you can get a military discount here

I wasn't aware of AG giving a military discount.....thanks for the heads up.

Nick - does AG give a military discount and how do you go about getting it?

Thanks to all who've answered - I have rethought it and am going to go with the GG

Do not send copies of your ID to anyone! It's actually a violation of US Code.

It's a little off topic, but several vendors who used to do that (i.e. Oakley) were ordered to stop. Also, message traffic was blasted out across all the services informing military members to stop the practice as well. There are multiple privacy and security issues that arise.

Here is the link with the coupon code for AG. Look at post #11
