So basically my 98 cobra hasn't been driven in 2 years due to a motor swap and me becoming a father. In this time it spent about 10 months in a garage and the other time outdoors with no cover on it. As you can imagine the paint looked bad. Wax was long gone and the paint literally feels like sandpaper. So the other day since I'm waiting on tuning I decided to go ahead and clay the car. After washing of course. The trunk looked the worse. So today I decided since I had a few minutes I would try and see what kind of finish I could get. Here are a few pictures. Sorry for the I phone quality.

This was only after a few passes of each. no swirl remover. 105 was on an orange pad on speed 5. 205 Was on a light blue pad on speed 4. I'm still learning but like everyone says its hard to mess it up with a GG

For cryin' outloud...

Get that socket OFF OF YOUR PAINT...!!!!!!!

Don't take offense to my first post...

That paint is certainy more clear, but if you were going to lay a socket on your paint the best time would have been before the compounding/polishing...and even then that's not something many of us like to see.

Next time you want to show some before and afters simply fold a micro-fiber, or cotton, towel and lay it on your paint. Then, place a bottle of the product on the folded towel to demonstrate the before and after photo's.

Hope it turns out like you want. Looks like you made a vast difference.

Yeah i stood the socket on the paint nice and careful afterall i didnt want to damage the paint haha. And i couldnt find my tape which is why there isnt a sqared off area for the test. I do plan on taping up all the trim and giving the car a really good polish indoors just as soon as this beast is tuned. Right now Im looking at around 540ish to the tires and I may have worked out a deal today that will put me around 630 to the wheels.

I was planning on going with a swirl remover, as well as a glaze and sealant before the final coat of wax.
