I have been working for a lousy company for the past nine years and i recently submitted a resume to an advertised job for a reputable company. I received a call the other day from the HR Manager and after a short discussion he said he thought I would be a great fit for position they are hiring and setup an interview for me tomorrow to meet with the Facility Manager. I am not a religious man, but I am praying I land this job. The income increase would be substancial. The commute to work would be 15 minutes instead of 40 minutes. I am totally qualified for the position with 12 years experience.

So I humbily ask those of faith out there to please add me to your prayers this week.
Thank you and god bless!

It's not selifish. God wants great things for us. Prayers sent. Good luck!

I hope you get the new job, good luck! :props:

I'll pray that you get the job if it is Gods will. More important I pray that regardless if you land your the new position or not that you do not take your eyes off Him.

God has set blessings and challenges set for you, and the fact that you are recognizing the need to turn to Him in time of needs is a good first step.

I agree with Joe that regardless of the outcomes that you need to keep your eye on Him.

Don't forget that with every blessings comes responsibilities, which is to share the Love He has for us to all around you.

I offer a prayer for you. I ask that God provides for you wisdom and grace (in this endeavor and others) beyond your understanding so that you can acknowledge His presence, and feel compelled to live the rest of your life in His embrace.

P.S. From personal experience, life was good before and now life is complete! (A feeling that goes beyond words, that you can only experience)

…'my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus'. ~ Philippians 4:19

And: Keep the Faith!

My interview went pretty good. Id say i accomplished 80% of what i set out to. I good a good vibe from the Manager. I wouldnt call it a warm and fuzzy feeling. Just a good vibe. The job is even better than i thought. If i successfully do the job it is a guarantee that ill get a few promotions withen a short period of time.

Whatrver happens, ill post feedback when i get the call, or, when i dont. Thanx for the prayers!

"A selfish prayer I know"

This thread title reminded me of one:

When I was young I prayed for a bicycle for Christmas for two years but never got it.

So I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness.

You know the rest. ;)

Good luck on your new job.

Didnt hear nothing today. I allowed myself this (1) day of anticipation, excitement, and daydreaming about how better things will be if i get that call. Now ill simply move on with my emotions, let the chips fall where they may, and continue looking for a job. A good job.

Well, this early news alone looks like prayers have been answered, in Gods time of course. Keep doing what you're doing my friend. Heck, just a shorter commute and the same money is a raise. ;)

I wouldn't expect the HR folks to be terribly quick. I've an old friend that's been either a HR director (earlier) or a headhunter his entire adult life, (almost 40 years) and only just retired. If you were one of the 'final pool' it could take them an excruciatingly long time to make a decision.

Here's to prayers that once they do, the job is yours! :)

Well, I never heard anything back on that job. In hindsight, I realized I didnt steer the interview in the right direction for me to present myself to be worthy of the position I was interviewing for. This past friday, I got a call from another potential employer and he wanted to interview me that same afternoon. I "showed up" this time and nailed the interview! They wanted me bad! Only problem is they cant afford me. lol. Even though I didnt accept the job I feel real good about the way I carried myself in the interview. Wish id have done that the first time.

As luck would have it, I got a call today from another potential GOOD employer that wants to interview wednesday evening. The job is equivillant to the first job I interviewed for. Its a lot further away which is a bummer. But a potentially great job. I plan to bring my "A" game and see where it goes. I am under qualified of course, but ya never know! All I need is a break!

Keep em comin
