I'll post. It would be my great grandfather who lived from 1890-1990 and actually rememberd the Spanish American War from his childhood experiences in Habana, Cuba. I wish I could talk to him again and ask him all the questions that I wasn't mature enought to ask him while he was still here. Or his son, my grandfather who I loved more than any other man on this earth and even though he passed in 1987 I still miss him terribly. I would just love to see him again and hear his laugh and smell him again. He always smelled so good.:)

You have a thing for smelling people, don't you? That's pretty cool btw that he lived in pre-1900. I had a great grandmother who was born in 1908, was cool to hear about the real 'old days'.

LOL I wouldn't call it "a thing" just that I notice if someone smells good or not. My grandfather was always very sharply dressed and always immaculately clean and smelled good. But even though his pants and shirt would be perfectly ironed he would still pull me up on to his knee and tell me stories and do magic tricks for me. He was always warm and caring and loved kids. My great grandfather (his father) was the same way. My great grandfather would always tell the women to bring the kids into the room and they would sit us down on the floor and my great grandfather would tell us stories all about our family and where we came from and so on. He was a really good story teller and his stories were always exciting or funny and even if you heard that same story a million times you always wanted to hear it again. My aunts and my grandmother and mother would all be cooking in the kitchen and us kids sitting with my great grandfather and grandfather and all the other men and he would have a captive audience telling us stories. It was really nice. I miss those times.

My mom & Dad married at an early age diviroced when i was three at age 11 a man name Robert (bob) lived upstairs from my friend of 39 years always i talked about Bob . One day they both had a chance meeting although never married he loved my mom( and not a 1st sight) and treated my sister and i like his own. Taught me a lot of good things the 71 Cutlass you see in some of my pics was his he bought the car after an honarable discharge from the Viet Nam.As i got older and started to have kids he loved them like no other, many bike rides, BBQ"s on Holidays ( 3 days weekends) one BBQ everyday and always with the whole Family he had an infectious laugh and was love by everybody.

I would like spend one of the holidays and BBQ for the whole Holiday each of the girls all 4 said they would love a warm day for one more bike ride, Then give the rest of the evening to my MOM .Dec will be 9 years since he has passed somedays it dosn't get easier.

BTW ,My Dad is alive he stopped over yesterday and we had nice conversation although both parents being divorced my Dad was always in my live. What was Odd my Dad was Union carpeneter so was Bob they where partners at work and off the job until they day he passed.
