Okay so I am working on my wife's car. She has Ohio State floormats:

Well after a few years the fabric is really frayed. Well I am tired of seeing the long strands and was pondering a quick fix. Enter in my new fabric detailing tool!!!!:

HAHA. I know weird right? But it does an awesome job!!! After the clippers and fabric cleaner these things look brand new, no frays! I used the clippers on frayed S10 seats as well and wal-la!

Try it out and leave some feedback!

LOL that's a pretty unique idea and I never thought of it. Any issues with the mats falling apart after doing this?

No attachment necessary my friends! Although you could pull off a mean fade :)

Mats are holding up just fine!

Good thing is its not like hair and it grows back thicker and faster lol :)

:laughing: I think I might put some old school lightening bolts in my mats!

Pretty cool idea, it seems like it will work.

Thanks for sharing it.

Great Idea, I guess us old dogs can learn new tricks! :wow:

Or some automotive logos. Shaving a Chevy Bowtie into some plain carpet mats doesn't seem like it would be too difficult.

You can also buy a clothes shaver for around 10 - 15 bucks. Amazon carries them. Has a guard so you don't snag or cut below the surface.

I'm pretty sure you can find those at Walmart or fabric/sewing specialty stores, maybe even large craft stores like Michaels.

You're welcome try it sometime!

Here's a great example of why we should always be open to learning new ideas, procedures or in this case a use of a tool not normally used in the car detailing world...

Great post!

Thanks Mike! I have learned so many techniques and tricks here thought I may continue the good works!:Picture:

Just so you know those are for HER car. No way those make it into my truck! Mountaineers!

Great idea! I love ideas that are out of the box thinking.

Always, I am a hobbyist, so any tool I can use without charging up the credit card is perfect for me! Multi-tasking!
