Didn't say you were biased, rather, that I am not. Had no intention of insinuating you were biased and you have my apology if I came off sounding insinuating that.
No issue with you mentioning your experiences. Obviously, you recognized something was wrong with the product. I just don't want you or anyone else passing up good deals on a great product based on one clay bar falling apart. For the money, what have you got to lose? I'd be more than happy to send you half a clay bar(unused portion) that I'm using that is working great, if you like. However, if you look around you can find great buys on the kit and even if the clay is bad, usually the detailer in the box cost more than an entire kit.
A garage kept car, and for that matter a brand new car off of the car lot, doesn't necessarily mean it's free of contaminants, but it sounds like you know if the car is badly contaminated or not. That's good.
What did your clay look like before it fell apart? That is, how much contamination was showing up and did the clay need kneading before it fell apart? What lube was you using? Answers could point to why the clay fell apart, or the answer could point to quality issues with the clay.
I've heard that plain soap and water can possibly cause some clay to deteriorate faster. I've also seen other people write that soap and water is all they use as a lube for their clay.
The TW clay (blue) seems to have...more of a plastic-e feel to me than the other over-the-counter clays, and a bit finer...almost slick rather than tacky...as if it's some sort of poly clay or something. Don't know how to really describe it, but it looks an awful lot like the pinnacle blue poly clay that I've seen in pictures on the forum. I've wanted to compare them, but can't seem to justify the price for the pinnacle based on the results I'm getting from kit deals.
