Yesterday I picked up a GG6 with the 6 pad deal here. My, luck today it's on cyber sale $55 less with no pads. I'm an original 7424 user with no issues. I got the GG6 for 2 reasons.

1. To make the PC a dedicated machine with a 3" backing plate and not have to switch.

2. Hopefully, you can effectively use it with 6.5" pads (unlike a PC) and speed things up a little by covering more area

So.. Who using what size pad (5.5" or 6.5") pads with their GG6 ?

I use the 5.5" pads. The 6.5" are going to be to big atleast from what I have read and heard. Speeding things up while polishing paint does not really work hand in hand.:buffing:

The Griot's 6" machine will rotate the pads far better than the PC.
Which pads size you choose to use really becomes a matter of personal preference. Fortunately depending on what you are working on changing the backing plate is no big deal.

I use my gg with 5" pads but you'll be fine with 6 especially since you have the dedicated 3" pc

You will be fine with the 6" pads for the Griots polisher.

Thanks. Paid $130.00 on Fri (with pads). Then it was on cyber deal for $75 Saturday. At least I'll be getting 6 new pads out of the deal. Just hoping the bigger pads can speed things up a little bit, as my PC does everything I want it to perfect (w/ 5.5" pads) it just takes a long time to polish my cars.

you should see if ag will give you ~20 back or ~30 back, cuz I mean the pads aren't worth $55 lol

I've used a the Griots with 6.5 and even 7.5 self centering pads with no problem. Power is not the problem with the Griots.
