Well I am about to do my 1st ceramic coating for a customer today.

I was wondering if I posted some pics up as I go through the process if you guys can take a look at my work so I can make sure I do a good job for the customer.

It's a one step correction and I'll be applying the BLACKFIRE Pro Ceramic Coating Black Edition.

Once I get to the application step I have timers available so I can set a timer for 45 seconds and then wipe the panel.

I'll be polishing with the Flex Beast, 8 Rupes yellow 7 inch CP pads, and the Pinnacle Advanced finishing Polish or the Sonax perfect finish. whatever I can get better results with.

I'm planning on an Iron decontamination step and then pulling it in to the shop for a rinseless wash or waterless wash with Sonax Glass Cleaner.

I have the Mother's Speed Clay 2.0 for the clay step.
Mothers Speed Clay 2.0 removes contaminants and improves gloss

Preferably a rinseless wash if Mike can answer my question over on his 1946 Dodge panel truck thread.

I didn't think about the rinseless wash option until this morning when I woke up and remembered about Mike's thread.

I just need the dilution ratio.

Here's my polishes I have available.

I think I may have enough 3D One to get through the job if need be.

I'm hoping to get the best result with the Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish

Hi. I was reading your post and since your are doing a chemical decontamination, the vehicle will get wet when you rinse the product off. Didnt catch what kind of vehicle.

It all depends on how much correction or polishing you want to get out of the project. I've had success with LC flat whites and One. Its a trade off sometimes since the pad isn't as smooth as say a black softer pad.

As for the coating. Take your time. Lots of rags. Soak them when finished. Good lighting to make sure all the high spots are gone.

Good luck. Just finished this C5 with One and ceramic.

One thing you don't mention is the panel prep? What are you using to get rid of the polishing oils before you apply the coating? Eraser, Prep, the Blackfire version...?

This as well. Vital. Eraser Optimum Panel Prep, something.

I'm stripping with the Meguiar's Surface prep and then going over it again with the PBL Diamond Surface Prep Spray

Looks great good work. Don't forget the panel wipe and you're good.

I'm gonna dilute 2 liters of sonax glass cleaner in 3 gallons of water for the rinseless wash.

I have a coolant funnel to fill the bottle

I cannot offer any worthwhile advice on the coatings, Jake.

But I know you will do well with this. You have come a long way since joining AGO, you have posted all of the ups and downs along the way, and you seem to always come out on top.

No worries, kid. You got this........ :)

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I guess I have come a long ways for sure.

Check out this tape job!

You can hand polish between those emblems and then coat them.

Now this man I am quoting CAN offer worthwhile coating advice.

Mike will be watching you...........

You mean coat between the emblems?

Yeah that is what I meant. You may end up with an uneven appearance if the spot is not coated compared to the surrounding area. It does not have to be perfect in terms of polishing in that area.

Thanks brother! That's a big help! I'm about to head in now and start the polishing process.
