It's been awhile since I've had detailing products, and before, I used the Zaino system, so my knowledge of how different products work together is limited. I will be holding off on buying a ROB right now, so my focus is on hand application. Here is what I've come up with so far:

Shampoo: Optimum Wash or DG 901
Claybar: I still have a pack of Zaino and a pack of Meguiars claybars
Paint prep: DG 501
Sealant: Wolfgang Deep Gloss
Wax: Pinnacle Liquid Souveran

Anything I should reconsider? Thanks!

And here's what it'll go on:

Im not sure what condition your paint is in but you man consider a PC to take care of any swirls. I have a Firebird and i love the curves on these cars and i cant get enough of that SOM. By the way i use liquid souveran and i love it.

Paint prep: DG 501 < good cleaner but neet a real polish as well if you want paint correction.
Sealant: Wolfgang Deep Gloss < haven't tried the new formula but if it looks the same and last longer than the first version it would be a nice option for a sealant.
Wax: Pinnacle Liquid Souveran < I like it but it is another sealant like the above WG. If you want a wax to top or as an option, maybe step up to souveran.

welcome back and hv fun.

Charlie, my paint is still in pretty good shape, so I'm not sure I need a PC just yet. That photo is fairly representative of my current paint condition.

PT91 - I'm not sure what I should go with for paint prep. This step is a bit foreign to me. What would you recommend? And as for the souveran, are you talking about moving to a straight wax instead of the liquid wax?

Thanks guys!

if you have a buffer, then under paint prep I would change to the new Wolfgang 3.0 polishes. Made by Menzerna and a clear advantage in polishing.

I don't have a buffer right now, and don't plan on buying one until a later time.

pt91 is right you do not need WG sealant and Pinnacle Liquid Souveran, but I would get a pre-cleaner like the Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer.
If you want to put something on top of the Wolfgang Sealant then go with a Pinnacle Wax.

Isn't the Liquid Souveran a wax??? Basically, you're saying go with a straight up wax, not the liquid stuff, right?

No, I am saying wax and sealants are two different products. You can use both as long as sealant is on the car first, but you do not need liquid Souveran and Wolfgang Sealant. You can do Paste Souveran but not Liquid Souveran it has polymers.

You won't have much luck layering Pinnacle Liquid Souveran over WG sealant. Reason being, liquids tend to have more solvents, which can remove the underlying sealant. This is why we usually put down a liquid sealant, and a pure carnauba paste (lower solvent content) over it. You CAN get SOME additional protection with an additional layer of Wolfgang, but the biggest advantages would be more even / complete coverage and some additional slickness.

Nice TA, btw. Is that wing stock, or is an aftermarket one (Mecham)?

if your looking for a wax topper and dont want to spend the dough on Souveran Paste currently, then look to DP Max Wax or Sig Series II. Both are nice and wont break the bank. You can even use the Souveran Spray Wax directly over Wolfgang as wanted but remember Wolfgang is warmer and glossy more like a carnauba anyways.

If you decide you are looking for the more reflective look like Z5Pro/Z8 combo, then consider Four Star UPP and the Four Star Spray Wax. Wont last quite as long but slicker and glossier initially. They also make a spray polish (see kit for best value) that can be done by hand prior to the sealants use. (UPP is a sealant)

Why not use either Liquid Souveran or the Wolfgang then top with a wax like SSII or P21 100%?
I just received my SSII and can not wait to try it out
