Absolutely Amazing PC & Manzerna 91E

I have wasted many hours over my car owning lifetime trying to remove swirls, light scratches, and imperfections from my car's paint. I have always failed. In fact, I left the paint in worse shape than I found it on two occasions.

So, when I decided to try my hand at automatic buffing again I was skeptical I would get a worthwhile result. Well, my days of destroying paint are over, I hope. I purchased the PC b/c I was told it was idiot proof. Well, so far it is idiot proof.

I polished the tailgate and one door with the PC and Manzerna 91E and the results are incredible. It has far exceeded my expectations. The swirls are gone. The only thing that remains are a few stubborn spots, i.e. imperfections. I started with the Lake Country 6.5 blue pad and worked backwards to the yellow pad using Manzerna 91E.

My question is how do I get out those stubborn spots? The paint around them is perfect and I do not want to do anything to disturb it. I ordered the 4" pads today thinking they may be the answer.
 
The 4 inch pads will probably help. Also leave the blue pads just for your final polishing they have no cut to them.
 
I know that I cannot remove scratches or chips that expose primer. However, can all marks, imperfections, that do not go to the primer be fixed?

One more question, are foam guns worth it? Are they necessary?
 
I would not say all of them can be fixed/buffed to perfection. As far as the foam gun goes I do not use one.
 
I think the 4" pads will help, maybe a more aggressive polish? Im not to familiar with Menz (I know about them just never personally used them). Meguiars 105 and a 3.5" LC foam wool pad has some good reviews that would help with really stubborn stuff. I have also realized sometimes 100% is not always goin to happen do it to the best of your ability and be happy with the results.
Foam guns look cool, I can see the use for them to help break down the grime and dirt on the car. Here we still have water restrictions so for the last month or so I have been strickly using ONR to wash.
 
All things considered I am very happy with the results I have attained. If I can improve on the job I have done then great, if not that's okay too. I realize the pursuit of perfection is analogous to a cat chasing its tail.

I took the plunge and purchased a foam gun. I live in Minnesota and I think it may be helpful in the winter months when the truck is caked with salt and mud. Plus, a friend has one and he uses to do the outside windows on his house. So, because i can get multiple uses out of it I thought I would try it. There is always ebay if I do not like it.

How many times can a vehicle be polished before it damages the clear coat or paint?
 
depends on types of polishes. compounds etc. but you can probably figure 40-60 easily.
