ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Water Beading due to Collinite 915 topped by 2 Layers of Collinite 845!! (Sealed CG V7 Hybrid)

Those don't look like 915 beads, I think that's the V7 beading. My 915 beads are very tight and round.

I agree. That has to be the V7 beading. Just detailed one of my cars using Klasse AIO topped with V7. Two days later it rained and I hardly had any beading. There's a post regarding V7 not beading very well.

I believe most that use a machine say they do so because it's easier to apply a thinner coat by that means, apparently 845 is a real pain to remove when applied too thick.

Is 845 ever applied by hand, or is it always used via machine?

You can apply by hand; But because it is difficult to remove when applied too thick, machine is preferred when available. I would guess that the people who apply it to trim do so by hand.

I've never seen anyone apply 845 by hand. I would definitely only use a machine. Just my 2 cents..

How do you wash your pads after 845 with machine? Dawn?

Thanks. I'll think I'll go with 915 when I get around to trying Collinite. I like something you can apply primarily by hand.

Hmmm... I just applied BFWD followed with a coat of 845 to my DD followed with quick wipe down with Megs ultimate quick wax. It rained for a good 10 hours straight last night. I woke up and the beading wasn't nice and tight like the above pictures. Keep in mind its not garaged. Also, it had a dusting of pollen. Will that effect beading?

Make sure you have your wheaties or some spinach that day. 915 is some of the hardest removing wax if you get it on even a little thick. It looks awesome once you get all the work done though and lasts a long time.

Sorry OP...

But here's a beading-photo from a couple years ago wherein the beads were "caused" by having:
"The Turtle's" 'Ice Synthetic Wax' applied to clean, smooth, painted surfaces:

-In many of my LSP'ing experiences:
The characteristics of the last applied LSP, and what it is applied upon,
will, more often than not, become the dominant factors/features.

And didn't you apply V7 atop the Collinites?

:)

Something isn't right... Again, this is my DD that is kept outside that had a coat of BFWD, 845, and Megs Ultimate Quick Wax applied last week.

Was/is the car dirty? I find that my beading diminishes if I have a awesome layer of pollen on the car, but when I clean it up it beads like new again... which makes sense.

Small, tight beads... just how they should be :xyxthumbs:

Yes, before it rained, there was a nice coating of pollen on it.

I would assume that is why your car lacked beading then. Wash it up and once it is clean spray a little water on it and then see what happens.

The opti-coat beads look beautiful. I will be opti-coating my car soon.

Looks like I'll be trying Opti-Coat next! The car was indeed parked under a tree so that might be it? The car was definitely clean. Washed 2x using the bucket method, compound, polished, waxed (Collinite 915>845>845>V7).
