Adam West aka Batman - Rest in Peace

Batman1.jpg

Adam West — an actor defined and also constrained by his role in the 1960s series “Batman” — died Friday night in Los Angeles. He was 88. A rep said that he died after a short battle with leukemia.

When growing up as a kid I used to run home from school as fast as I could to try to catch the TV show Batman as it aired in the afternoon.

When people ask me out of all the cars I've detailed in my life, which car has been my favorite my answer is always the Batmobile.

Rest in peace Adam West, you are a super hero to so many....

Adam and Burt were the best Batman and Robin. Linda Carter as Wonder Women and Lee Majors as The Six Million Dollar Man, together these 3 shows molded my childhood, especially Batman and Robin. Adam West was and still is.....seriously COOL! He will be missed!

Nooooooo! I didn't know until reading this post. I too grew up watching the series, and Batman has always been my favorite superhero. I have quite a collection of Batman memorabilia and comics, and years ago one of my best friends got Adam West to autograph a picture for me at a comic convention. May Mr. West rest in peace knowing that he brought much joy to millions of people through his acting and fan interactions.

I used to love the re-runs syndicated in the early 80's. I was Batman more than once for Halloween...

RIP, Adam West.

Wow, I'm so saddened, he was, is and always will be the first and only Batman.

I just logged on and what's ironic is my wife wanted to watch a ppv movie The Shack and so I said I'll make you a margarita and I'm heading to my man cave, maybe I'll watch the original Batman movie, this was 5 minutes ago, now I'm definitely watching it.

RIP Adam "Batman" West. You were and always will be a class act!

Not too mention other than the original Wonder Woman Linda Carter, Cat Woman, Julie Newmar (no disrespect to Lee Meriwether) just happens to be one of the hootest ladies to ever grace us.

Just poped the dvd in and threw the popcorn in the micro wave.

Off to the Bat Cave!

Mike every time I watch Batman on the ME TV Channel and I look at the dulled out, swirled out Bat Mobile I always think about your post and true justice for the Bat Mobile!

Long live Adam West and George Barris!

If they only had Mike P on the set back then, wow, just imagine how much hotter the Bat Mobile could have been!

Oh hell yeah! I think I was Batman for Halloween for a good 3-4 year stretch back in the early to mid 70's because of Adam West.

Loved his work on "Family Guy" as well.

•Went to a local Car Show today, and
wouldn't you know: the first vehicle to
come into view happened to be one of
the Batmobiles---stilled owned by the
same person that has had it for a very,
very, long time---and among the ones
that I had the pleasure to have seen
from his initial ownership thereof.

First...Here's a couple of photos
from today's Car Show:
