Adams wheel and tire cut 1:1

I don't know what's in there and I don't doubt what Ric has read about it damaging wheels but damn that stuff cleans tires amazingly

Reviews on Amazon. Half of the negative reviews are regarding the joke bottle & sprayer the 16oz. comes with. The rest talk about how it ruined their wheels and stained the heck out of them even though they’ve used other wheel cleaners for years and followed the directions. Alot even provide pics. It’s weird.

Personally I think that gallon is overpriced, especially considering it’s RTU. Diluting it sounds like it takes away from what it’s best at which isn’t something I typically like to do with products that work their best [i.e. I only use Hyper Dressing @1:1]

From all I’ve read, Brake Buster isn’t as strong as other similar products and that’s not something I’m looking for.

I’ve been using Megs D143 @2:1 for years and I couldn’t be happier with it’s ability to get the job done on routine wheels & tires.

For me Brake Buster is purely for maintenance and for that it's the best!

This forum turned me on to D143. I've only used it about 3 or 4 times on 2 different cars and I'm sold on this stuff. I started with 2:1 and I'm probably going to go to 3:1 - 4:1 just because this stuff works so well. I bought a gallon of it and at those mixture levels I'm good for a really long time (great price too!).

It's funny..it was more like 2 applications. And just 250 ml for 4 tires.

And it's my car.

Sorry mate, I probably should have worded that differently, I most certainly didn't intend offending you.

I didn't especially mean you had personally wasted your time/money, more so that in a professional environment where time and product usage eat into the profit margin, repeated scrubbings of the tires is not something that most customers will notice. In that environment, as long as the product removes the surface contamination, a singular scrub is more than enough.

I have been meaning to give D143 a try.

For Brake Buster, what dilution ratio are people using for tires?

The reason I ask, I have never been left wanting from Brake Buster as a tire cleaner, including neglected tires. But then, I don't dilute it for that role.

If you do, I highly recommend it @ 2:1
2 parts water, 1 part concentrate. I dunno why but it works better that way than 1:1.

I had diluted it 2:1. When I used it in a spray bottle with a foaming sprayer it was really thick foam so I further diluted to 4:1.

The time I tried using it in my regular Kwazar pump sprayer it foamed up so much and I didn’t like that + it used way too much when it foamed.

Yeah, I usually do 1 application with Tuf Shine, sometimes 2. No drill brush.

Now that I don’t use tire coatings I drill brush once or twice a year to get down to bare rubber.

I had a tire that was coming clean with TufShine and their brush brown up with a drill brush. Not needed for f just using dressings but why do a lot of us do the things we do.

Problem with brake buster is I can get that initial reaction. Then become white with second scrub. Then I hit with tuff shine and brown again.

But for applying dressing and m ok with removing 80% what’s there with BB. I use for maintenance washes but use something else when i deep clean or tire coat.

I use neat most of the time. Trying out v1:1 right now.

What dilution do you use the 3D Yellow? Do you only use it for wheels & tires? What’s it like?

Ive been using it 1:10. I have also mixed it 1:4. Our vehicles dont need the stronger dilution but when i do need it..the power is there.

I mainly use it on wheels/tires,fender wells, engine bay. Also if i need a degreaser for anything else, i grab 3d yellow. But anything interior i will use 3d orange though.

I once used 3d yellow on an undercarage of a big truck frame. It was painted a perl white, and was going to a show but had grease flung everywhere underneath. I had to hit it twice though. I watched it just melt off, then blasted of what remaind with the pw.

I have gone through many gallons of it lol
