Well I went to Home Depot to get a few new tools so I could get ready to Dynamat my whole truck, and as I was walking past the paint department I noticed that they had a few power washers on clearance. Sitting there was a 1800 psi electric out of the box. I asked the associate how much it was since there was no price listed on it, and a few minutes later a Assistant Manager came over and told me he could mark it down to $45! I don't have a pic of the actual unit I have (didn't take a pic of it yet), but here's a pic of the one I got.

Its not the greatest, but I'm hoping to get a year out of it for detailing until I can get a gas-powered unit. Anyone else have this unit? Feedback?

Thanks Jimmie, I just couldn't pass that deal up. Seems like its a decent machine, just nothing like the construction of a gas powered unit. I'm hoping to give it a try later today.

You'll do fine with that one..I've got an electric one and it is about 5 years old now and has done me just fine.

Thanks for the input richy, greatly appreciated.

Good buy! I wouldn't imagine you'd need a gas powered one for detailing (unless you were mobile without a generator). That should be plenty of pressure - the gas powered washer I have is capable of taking paint off rather than cleaning it... great for concrete though ;)

Well just used the unit tonight for the first time (got up to almost 60 degrees I think). First impressions -just the right amount of power for auto use. Made cleaning wheel wells and undercarriage much easier. Pretty quiet also. Overall I think its a decent unit and will suit my needs perfectly. Definitely worth the $45!

Sounds like you caught a good deal. I'm sure it will do just fine for your needs. Good luck with it.

I really was at the right place at the right time. Its nice to have that happen every now and then

wow great deal there are some discounts at big lots but with no warranty i will not bite

They are great for removing greasy stuff from tires. A little spray of degreaser and quick pressure wash off and they look like new. :)
I use a gas powered one, but the pressure is adjustable. It's important not to get too crazy or you'll do some damage.

shot i got a gas one from sears that was a return for 179 bucks, it was originally 450! i had one of those in the right place at the right time deals. it goes to like 4500psi. it was returned by a customer that ordered it from the web and found it too much, it was out of state deal and said right on the box, not to be sold in cali. i was returning a washer i had bought and was too small, the manager asked me when my birhtday was and i said 3 days, it really was, and he exchanged it even for me. i'll try and get the model number later

I don't have one, but it seems for easy washing, not for havy duty or commercial purposes.

Great buy ! Make sure you pick up some "Pump Saver" (can usually be found by the pressure washers at Lowes or HD)to use if the unit will sit unused for any length of time. It keeps the pump from siezing up. Just follow the directions and give it a shot before storing.
