Added new lighting to the garage

Excellent choice of hardware and perfect installation. Just one question, what area will you be lighting up for the wife?

New Government Regulations Means Changes Coming To Light Bulbs « CBS Pittsburgh

Just a heads up if you didnt hear about it

Well that is news to me, so I appreciate the heads up!

I looked at the regulation ( http://www.nalmco.org/assets/0/56/68/122/cd5dfac9-f80b-4d0c-a78e-6318a7979907.pdf ) and it looks like if they are able to make a T12HO lamp that meets the efficiency requirements I may still be in business.

T12HOs won't be going anywhere any time soon... it's a totally different animal than an incandescent bulb, and the expense to retrofit would be unreasonably high for a huge number of applications. Practically every single business sign at stores, restaurants, etc. are lit by T12HO lamps still.

That said, if you did want to retrofit, going to a T8/T8HO is very easy to do. Just need the ballast and new lamps, the sockets and fixtures don't change. (Yes, I saw that the article says otherwise, but they're wrong.)

Apparently no one thinks it's unreasonable to cause everyone to retrofit their standard T12 installations, which I suspect vastly outnumber the HO and VHO installations.
