Since many of the fuel tank additives are mostly comprised of mineral spirits, acetone, kerosene or its derivatives....I wonder what accumalative effect of using additives, such as BG 44K in the fuel tank, will have on the in-line fuel filter, the fuel pump and sending-unit, O-Rings, seals, other fuel sustem rubber components.
IMO.....
If ever needed.....Bench cleaning/testing of fuel system components, using many of the same chemicals that are in fuel tank additives, is where the most dramatic difference will be seen.
Gasoline purchased at the pump is supposed to have enough additives, as required, regionally.
That doesn't include the "additives" that are in the 3,000 gallon tank towed around by the tanker truck, though.
I never use oil additives.
