Admitted to hospital, RELEASED TODAY!!

Wow that is horrible, well I try to look at the positive side it could have been worse, OR if they would have put down the phone you would be fine! I agree I see this getting worse as technology progresses. But we are happy to have you back with us, and post count is about quality not quantity so post as you may!! :)

Thanks Bobby, I have the best attorney in the state (he found me from the news) and he just takes 33% of the total at the end (going after progressive) and he advised me not to settle for anything under 100,000. I had full coverage and so did girl that hit me ( she was in a 09 e class benz). So i know shes got money or atleast her family does. Like i told my attorney, yea the money is great and all but...That money is going to be gone one day. Hows my back going to be in 20 years when im 45? Thats my main concern. I didn't bust my ass the last 9 years to be a cripple (no offense) if anyone is. The whole thing is just frustrating. Thank god i have a wonderful woman on my side.

You are absolutely right to think about your future. When I initially injured my back (at work) I was young and dumb and thought I was invincible. I ended up settling with the Worker's Comp. Co. for far too little. It didn't help that I had a lousey lawyer (I later found out that he was a womanizer who was sleeping with clients for free services). So definitely stick to you guns and don't settle unless the terms are substantial. Try to get lifetime medical if possible you just might need it. It can be a very long road to recovery you must be patient. I'd also advise you to see as many docotrs as possible, the more opinons the better. Good luck and keep your head up.

All the best Tory.

I feel I must add to the distracted driving issue...I live in a town of barely 10K (couple miles wide, couple miles long) and I want to know who in the h**l they are talking to. You just left the driveway and you're on that phone, who is so damn'd important that it can't wait 5 min until you see them in person. Hang up and drive!

Get well Tory!

Bill

Update: had 4 hip injections, and another epidural in the spine this time in the L4, sorry I've not been active, i wouldn't even consider myself active in real life. Regards, Tory

I hope things get better soon. What an unfortunate situation. I will pray for your recovery.

Without good health a gold nugget means nothing...absolutely nothing!

Praying for your good health...

Did the epidural help at all? When I had it done it numbed me out for about 10 hours then everything was back to the way it was- pain. I have heard that it does work on some people but I've never spoken to anyone that it has actually has helped. Just curious. I sympathize with you, back problems can be tough to heal. Good luck.

I have been looking around as I drive lately and noticed about 40% of people fooling with texting, ipods etc....it really is a serious issue and it is only going to get worse. I really dont know how to stop it....

This option was thrown out there, i said i want to everything possible before going under the knife. My father is a perfect example of chronic back pain due to surgical failure in 07.Very tough choices, it seems thus far i hear and read more bad than good.I currently have no feeling from the knee up to waist and right buttocks!

Thanks guys for all the wishes :dblthumb2:

They tried giving me there dope! Im on all non-narcotic! I have 2 muscle relaxers for the spasms and 1000mg Tylenol for pain.I didnt want to get hooked to anything, watched first hand that stuff ruin peoples lives.

I didnt know so many people would respond, here is what my impression reads:

Transitional vertebra with lumbarization of S1 and a mobile disc space at so labeled S1-S2.There is interspace narrowing with disc dehydration and an extradural defect at the L5-S1 level. There are signs of retrolisthesis of L5 on S1. Lower thoracic spine appears normal.

L3-L4: Lateral Foraminal stenosis

L4-L5: maintained central annulus and facets. There is hyperintensity seen within the left lateral annulus with a suggestion of far left lateral annular protrusion which looks to contact the extraforminal left L4 nerve best demonstrated series 8 image 13 and 14. Slight central canal narrowing.

L5-S1:
Protruding central annulus predominantly displaces the epidural fat which looks to encroach the intraspinal S1 or exiting L5 nerves best seen on series 11 images 5-8. Central spinal stenosis with normal facets.

Degenerative spondylosis pronounced at L5-S1 with central annular protrusion with slight nerve root impingement.

This was my lumbar impression, thoracic cleared and i still have impressions of my hip which lead to bmes as they call it, and a herniated C3 and C4 yet C5 is bulging??

Ive googled some of it and had to stop, its better left in greek (doctor terms) atm for this is stressful and i know the road ahead is going to suck! Im not at all worried about the cuts and bruises, they will heal with time! My back worries me.

Thanks for taking the time to read

Regards, Tory Taylor

I am not a physician, but I will tell you your options. I used to work on disablity claims. I have seen about 1,000 lumbar MRI's over the years.

Your age is to your benefit. I take it that you are about 25 from the info in the post.

THe nerve root impingement at L5-S1 could be an issue. You will have some pain in your legs due to this structural result of the crash.

Epidurals can help, but only for a short period. Some people get more benefit, but the pain usually returns in most cases.

A laminectomy could help reduce the pain. Your recovery will be key. As far as a settlement, I would wait until all of your medical treatment is completed. Otherwise, you will be shortchanging yourself. Your final settlement will be related to your total medial bills and time missed from work.

Do you have disability insurance? Are you losing income due to this accident?

What does your cervical MRI look like? PM if you have more questons.

I do.

But most people would consider it murder.

Even though I consider it self defense.

But look how that turned out for Zimmerman.

Maybe just crushing their car on the spot might be a move in the right direction.

Anyone manufacture a Hybrid Bigfoot?
