I don't do many standard detail services so doing this more basic wash and wax detail was a very nice break from the daily grind of polishing. This client found me via one of the car forums I frequent and was looking to properly clean and protect his car during the winter season. Being his first detail ever we went with one of my standard services which comes with a polymer sealant.

Main points:
-Decontaminating paint
-Wheel cleaning & sealing
-Sealing paint surface and glass
-Interior cleaning and conditioning

Car condition when dropped off

Vehicle was first rinsed, foamed and then given an Iron X bath to remove embedded contaminants.

There's a big misconception that new car's DON'T need to be clay bar'd. This is entirely FALSE, New car need to be decontaminated properly as evidence shows here.

After Iron-X dwelled for about 8 min car was rinsed, dried then pulled inside. I always Clay after Iron X just to be safe.

After claying car was wiped down and given two layers of Blackfire Wet Diamond.

Upon removal the increase in gloss and reflection was quite significant.

Thanks for looking!

great job! that beamer looks killer..what model is it?

Nice job. White looks so nice when it's clean. Took a look at your site. I know where to go if I am ever in San Diego and need my car coated. Like your page on FB as well.

Great job.

Maybe your thread will prove to those who don't think claying is needed that indeed it does.
Proof here that it is.
Thanks for posting:)

nice work, how do you buy your clay?, I hate having to go out and keep buying a whole clay kit. I am usually detailing heavily contaminated cars

A very effective job with beautiful results!

Not only is it refreshing for you, Tim, that this job was somewhat 'normal' in the realm of detailing but it's also refreshing as a reader to see such a sharp turnaround when employing a simple, yet very effective game plan that's well executed with proper products and techniques.

Sometimes, I wonder... where are all these people who want multi-step corrections? So, it's nice to know that you and other fine, high-level detailers are "human" too. (I.E.- you get the occasional wash/wax.)

Anyway, I digress. I'm sure the owner couldn't believe the transformation.

Kudos to you!

You are right Gabe, I actually enjoy doing simple wash and wax type jobs like this over long and sometimes painful full correction work.
