ADS Quartz applied to the EN!

I found a good use for one of my ADS stickers

I like those stickers. I did the same thing with the ones Gyeon includes with their coatings. After a couple years I begin to forget when I applied the coating and the sticker is a handy reminder. I'll typically label it with the month and year.

I suggested to Bradley @ADS that they make a slightly smaller sticker with Quartz, Quartz Pro & Date

After doing some further research reading their Q&A section about this product, I'll be using it as a "booster" come spring

I have no doubt this product will last 3 years but the way I am, I like to be more involved in the "process", so once winter is over and I get that that first NICE weekend, I'll be doing a chemical decon, ADS Decon wash and then a coat of this

Now they've got a glass coating as well and I've heard it's really good but CarPro Clarify Phobics has blown me away, plus I've already got it, so I'll wait it out

It seems they also have a spray and rinse coming and a rinseless sponge.

How did you find this? Bradley told me about the spray on, hose off product, similar name to Quick Beads but that's ok because it's exactly what happens when using these type of products

I'll be buying that sponge purely because it's GREEN, my favorite color! I bought a 5 pack of their 350 GSM towels purely because their green

Come spring, I'll be placing a big order with them, no doubt about it, maybe they'll have even MORE by then

I use Facebook still for some reason. I use it more for detailing groups than that actual social thing though.

I got to watch all that other recent drama unfold almost in real-time.

Their towels go through color changes often. I've got green pearl zero streak towels from their first run and the green plush.

Watch for their sales. As they get bigger the sales are fewer but if nothing else, one of their permanent codes is CDD15 for 15% off.

You're really pushing me to get my ADS stack onto a car with this thread...

There's beading and there's what saw today with just their Ceramic Spray Sealant stacked on Quartz! While I was rinsing the beads looked to have something black in each bead but it had to just be the lighting and I'm only using a garden hose and sprayer

As expected, ADS Quartz passed the first test of snow yesterday, ofcoarse because it is so new still (about 6 weeks old) but the vertical panels and their beading...AWESOME

I'm sure the roads got salted and that'll be another test. I've gotta take the EN in for an oil change tomorrow, so I might do a RW after work today as it's supposed to be 45, if there's any salt on there, it's not staying around that long

Glad you're still liking the ADS coating and please keep updating this thread when you can.

My car was re-ended about a month ago and up to 1/4 of the car now has a fresh paint job. The Gyeon Pure on those areas is lost, so next spring I'll be coating the car all over again. I really liked Pure EVO, but all the chatter has me thinking I might give the ADS a try. I'm already a fan of Amplify, so their coating isn't much of a leap at this point.

I won't be doing any work until it warms up in March or April, so hearing about your experience will help me decide whether to stick with Gyeon or try out the ADS.

I'm honored that my input is valuable to you, thank you

I have the coating "stacked" with 2 or 3 coats of ADS Ceramic Spray Sealant as well, the stack is strong with this one

This is cool because Deyon (DFB) convinced me to go with ADS over Gyeon again and I haven't looked back! If I knew how easy it was to use I would've gone with the ADS Quartz that's stronger but I didn't feel I needed it, always go stronger and longer

If I was to use Gyeon coatings on my car this spring, I'd probably go with Mohs EVO rather than use Pure EVO. I'd do this mainly because I'm curious how it would look on my car compared to Pure EVO, but also because Mohs is so much easier to apply than Pure EVO. I' also have a feeling Mohs has slightly better water behavior and durability over Pure.

That's all up in the air now as I look at ADS which seems to be very Mohs-like in performance and application. Honestly, I don't know if I would gain anything by trying the pro version of ADS. I don't let coatings go over 3-years before polishing and re-applying, so I don't know if the cost would be worth it.

On a daily driver that I take much pride in, I'd think 3 yrs is good because "some" issues will appear and you'll wanna do something about it. My car really wasn't too bad, very minor RIDS, less obvious on my car but once YOU KNOW they're there, it's a wrap

This is making me want to move up my application for trying out their coatings stacked. Planning to put Pro on and finish with Quartz. My timeline was "by Spring" based on the shelf-life since both are already sitting in my cabinet but maybe I need to do it sooner

New release (and sale) alert though:

Yeah. I was following a large coating test and the stack from ADS was doing well. It included maybe 40 or so different coating applications. Individually they also did very well but the stack was also a top performer.

The info I find is typically from their Facebook group.

Well my "stack" was a little easier to apply, I've got like 2 or 3 coats of ADS Ceramic Spray Sealant, plus a little less expensive BUT I can apply many stacks

That said, come next fall, I'm going to apply Phobic to my paint as a "booster", will it need it...no, but I'm doing it anyways! The Quartz will only be a year old but I wanna see what Phobic does when applied over it

I've got a few bottles of CSS for when I need to stack the stack

The Phobic has been very popular online. I chose not to buy it as it is a lot of product and I've let too much Can Coat go to waste already. I've heard they're looking into us little guys and thinking about new package sizes. I'm sure Phobic will be great on top of Quartz though. Sounds like we shouldn't be surprised if Phobic replaces Quartz before long.

I don't think it will replace Quartz for a couple reasons. First...price, just because Next is time. I can tell you that over the period of 2 years, on my own car, I could see "slight issues" but understand it's people like US that notice it, so a 3 year coating is perfect because you don't feel guilty about polishing off something that "might" have another 3-5 solid years left. So I feel a product like Phobic can be an easy to apply, longer lasting "sacrificial layer" because it's protecting a traditionally laid down coating but is so much more than a "sacrificial layer", I think you get my point
