I got a call from this customer asking if i could bring back his Rover to what it used to look like after a few years of being driven and parked outside.
It had a few major scratches that i knew would not be able to taken out.
He knew that and told me to just do my best.
When i saw the car for the first time i knew i had my work cut out for me. Scratches and swirls everywhere.
I started out with Menz PG on a orange pad but didn't like the marring left behind, so i went to 3M #2 with a red pad, equivalent to yellow pad from LC. These are just a brand i pick up at my local supplier.
I followed that with the same 3M on a blue(Light cut) pad, followed by ultrafine on a green(soft polish) pad.
Topped it off with liquid souveran. On the bumpers i skipped the red pad, didn't want to risk the aggressive pad on plastic bumpers.
This is a DD, so the objective was not to achieve perfection but to at least get rid of as much, if not most of the swirls.
The interior was given a good clean up also but that was finished up at night, so i didn't want to fuss with getting the right lighting to take pics.
