Advertising a product in your service?

Let's say I include xyz sealant in one of my services. Can I advertise that on my website and then add a link to that products website?

Is this legal ? I did a google search but no solid info.

I only bring up product brands if a customer asks what I will be using, even then I don't bring up specifics. You never know if they may be asking an honest question, or if a competitor is sizing you up.

I never even thought about a competitor sizing you up, that's a really good point. I never do it because the customer may have a biased opinion about a product used simply because of what he or she has heard instead of experienced.

A lot of times my customers ask what I use after they see the results, not before.

I was leaning more towards websites. If I showcase a particular product that I use in one of my services and also have a link going to there website for more information does this kind of put me in a gray area?

I know if your advertising someone else's product or brand on your website your labial for any damage that may happen by accidentally misrepresenting the product in anyway.

I'm not really sure to be honest with you, but IMO, if you're worried about any negative reciprocation in the slightest, don't do it.

I would not advertise anyone's product unless they paid me. It's my website I pay for it. If a company wants me to promote their product then they can compensate me for it.
