Anyone here from small towns? i.e. under 5,000 people?

I mean, theres a city about 15 miles from me that I will plan on basing my detailing business out of with about 50,000 people... but my hometown of 2750 people (roughly) had their 4th of July parade and with small towns, the whole town shuts down and the parade-trail is completely FILLED with all of the locals and some people who drive from nearby towns to watch it. Kind of how a small town shuts down for the varsity football game on Friday nights...

Anyways... with parades in small towns... there are EASILY over 1,000 people watching the cars go by, tractors (in my case), the school band, cheerleaders, FFA, BUSINESSES coming through with a car...
Businesses.

Leads me to ask: What if you did the highest level detail you offer (paint decon, polish rims & all metal, full paint correction, window polishing, etc. the whole 9-yards) on a vehicle and put it in the parade to advertise your business? I mean how much can a spot in a small-town parade cost? $300-$500? But think all of the people that will see it go by. Could have a flyer on it with "Do you want YOUR vehicle to look THIS good?" and have contact information/business info. Short and sweet. Vehicles move like 2-4 mph in parades and sometimes come to complete stops too.

In my town, it's more of a rural community so I would do a big truck as opposed to a BMW sedan or something... it's more appealing to the people that would be attending the parade.
Food for thought. Parades only come around a few times a year (for my area at least)

Feed back please

You will need to address 3 things when/if you do this; not necessarily in a complete or absolute sense but enough to enable #3 for a small % of the folks that will be interested.

1) You need to convince the prospects that your price is affordable relative to the value

2) You need to convince the prospects that their car can look like your display car

3) You need to convince the prospects that they should call and ask for more details

One thing I would do is see about having 2-4 people walk the sides of the vehicle and hand out flyers to those interested. Get a few extroverts that will generate some energy from your display.

You also need to convince the parade organizers not to put you after any of the horses :)

I had thought about it too

My thought was using defined taped areas to show side by side of before and after. Half a swirled door tape then perfection
