Advice for metallic black paint - Dealership Installed Swirls

ok ill look into that. Also just so we are all on the same page the second post with the 4 pics were not of any scratches the first two of the 4 are to show what it looked like right after i tried to correct the scratches and the two below those are to show what it looked like before the dealership scratched it. To be honest what i think they did was took a hose hosed it down (no soap) and wiped it down with a crappy rag.

i ordered a couple products and i intend on tackeling the job once again to remove the scratches entirely. correct me if im wrong but heres how i plan on doing the job.

2 passes with ultimate compound on my rotory buffer low rpm so i dont burn the paint but what would be a good pad to use

ultimate polish at a little higher rpm then with the compound with a foam polishing pad

chemical guys blacklight with micro fiber mini orbital buffer

2 coats chemical guys XXX wax by hand with micro fiber pad

what do you guys think? the scratches that are in there now are not nearly as bad as they originally were and would prob not even be noticeable after a good wax but it bugs me knowing they are there.

Sounds like you are on the right path, but I wouldn't too crazy with the deep scratches.

You will still have some holograms left though as it almost impossible not to leave something behind after a rotary.

I would be using foam to apply wax though, not MF.

Seriously how did they do that in one wash?! They had to be a special kind of careless to do that much damage. That's really sad!

yeah i asked the same thing. i wish i had better pics because it was really bad. It still pisses me off. The fact that i got the general manager involved and he was saying that i did the damage and im pretty much trying to get a hand out made me want to lose my marbles on the guy. I told him "how can you say i did the damage when these scratches are clearly fresh! Look there is no overlapping on any of the scratches!!!" so he was like listen the most i can offer you is a car wash but im not having some one buff out the marks that we didnt do... it was beating a dead horse. I have no idea what they used or how they did it my 2 year old son has more competence then their auto detailer. After what they did i lost all faith in a companies integrity. Its clear that the person who did the damage simply just didnt give a sh**. Im over it though all that it has done has forced me to take better care of my truck and get more involved in how to detail my truck the right way and to be honest i couldnt be happier. Im learning a lot and have bought a few products and cant wait to get a good DA buffer. In fact my girlfriend asked me what i wanted for xmas and i went from wanting a 87mm ported throttle body for my truck to now a flex buffer lol.
