Advice needed:New Lake Country Hydrotech Pads

I need to buy a set of 6.5" pads.

Are the new LC Hydrotech pads a good 'substitute' for the CCS orange+white+black combo?

I'll be using them with the Menzerna P203s and PO85rd on Honda paint.

If you have the older pc, then I would go with a 5.5" pad and get some 4" pads for heavier and tighter correction. The older pc doesn't have the power to spin 6.5" pads.

It's not so much the pad as it's the size. The new XP, Flex and new Griot should not have any problems spinning these 6.5" pads because of the increased OPM's and amp's.
 
So, if i stick with the 6.5", it will take me longer to do some corrections?

Or will it be a futile attempt to do any corrections?

Once again, the 6.5" pads are too big and heavy to spin on the PC7424. It will work with the new PC7424XP which has more power.

Guess I better save up for the XP.
I will give the 5.5" pads a thought.

I have to agree with the statements that the regular PC is better machine with the 5.5" pads. I have the original issue PC and always noticed that you could not put much pressure on the 6.5" pads or the pad would stop rotating. You could still do corrections, but it took a lot longer. I recently bought some 5.5" pads and a new 5" backing plate. Viola! I have much better performance with the PC. The PC is a fine machine and one of the pioneer mass selling random orbital polishers.
I will buy the XP model when I replace my original PC. Until then, I will be using the 5.5" pad without any concerns as to using my machine. The Flex doe's have a forced rotation model that will not have this issue. I don't like the price of the Flex for one. I can buy a
fine rotary polisher and a PC-XP for the price of the Flex. I also don't like the limited choice of backing plates and not having them readily
available is another issue.
 
FWIW, I use the Meguiar's 8207/9207 on my G100 (it's a 7335), the pads are 7" or so. They spin fine for me on speed 5 and obviously 6.....The W68DA backing plate is a must to match the pads. Not sure the difference between the 7424 and 7335 is.

Ditto.

I'm sure this is a topic Mike can speak on as I've seen him catalogue countless corrections with the 6.5" and 7.5" pads, without any problems.
