sorry if this is in the wrong thread, please feel free to move..........

My daughter has a 96 civic coupe. It was stolen and the people who stole it, spray painted it primer over the white paint job. We used mineral spirits on a small part of the wing, the primer came off but we're talking 30 mins with a hand job, and maybe a 12x6 in patch, the white paint was fine under neath.................it's a little bucket beater car, so not looking to paint it, if i can get this primer off, we can live with how it looks.

anyone have any suggestions? i'm going to buy a buffer, but would probably need more advice on how to clean this car up a bit.

thanks in advance!

IT may be possible with a Dual action polisher( Griots, Porter cable, and the cheep no name one at "Freight harbors Tool" I think its about $50 bucks but this is junk) since you were able to get some of it out with Mineral Spirits.. I would use a light to heavy cutting pad with a polishing Compound.

Clay bar should remove it. Any stubborn areas should come off with a buffer and some polish or compound.

lacquer thinner will remove that so fast and effortlessly.

first off thanks for all the suggestions! now lacquer thinner will that hurt the paint or are we just thinking since it's a beater no harm no foul? Like i said, if i can get it somewhat cleaned up, it won't look so crazy, she keeps getting pulled over because they think it's a stolen car.... then she shows the paperwork and away she goes again....
