Hey guys,
I am about to sign up for a Google Adword and Facebook campaign.
I need some advice from people who actually use these for their detailing business.
So how would you go about it? Any advice on images, keywords, type of promotion, what to say, and so on?
1) I would start with Facebook. Figure out the demographic of people you'll be targeting (men or women, how old, what area, what do they like, etc.).
2) Start with a SMALL (dollar amount small) test of different words or headlines. Run 2 ads at the same time to the same people with ONE thing different between the 2...either picture OR the headline NOT BOTH.
3) Based off your results from step #2, go full-out and make a larger investment on facebook and google ad words witht he piece of mind that you did not waste your hard earned dollars on something that didn't work.
As far as keywords, it really depends on your SPECIFIC target customer. If you're targeting men aged 30-50 in Montreal who make $100,000 or more who drive nice cars, I would try to incorporate something about being young, fast, luxurious, and awesome. If you're targeting teenage boys, you could mention something about getting more girls with his sweet ride.
CHEAT TIP: If you're not sure about your specific target or what to say, just run a mother's day special to a general audience since it's about that time of year. Mention something about how gifting your mom a new car is expensive, but my detailing will make her feel like she's in a brand new car...or something along those lines (yea that needs a lot of work to be good). I'll warn you though, specifically targeted facebook ads have always yielded me WAY BETTER returns and more appointements for me vs. when I tried to target everyone and their moms.
BEFORE AND AFTER pictures would also be GREAT for a facebook AD. Facebook ads are great because they can be VERY visual so use that to your advantage. Link the ad up to the section of your website where they can make an appointment or where they can call you...NOT to your homepage if they have to look around. A customer clicking on your ad signifies that they're at least slightly interested, so go ahead and put yourself in a position to "close" them right away...vs them having to click around and figure out how to find you. If they're not quite sold on you and your services, they'd take the time to click around your site regardless of what page you bring them to.
Google ads are much harder to get right since you cannot include a picture. Start with Facebook, see what sticks on there first, refine your headline that attracts your customers, and then move on to google. UNLESS, your target customer is not on facebook, but chances are they are since everyone is on facebook.
As always, let me know if you need more information, have questions or if anything I've said is not clear.
