afraid to go to far

hello all i got my new flex 4301 and have been using it on several cars now

all the cars that i do look good but nothing like the quality you guys put out.

i have been using 3m # 1 compound # 2 polish and # 3 ultrafina but i cant even get out the bird bomb marks

i don't have a paint gauge so i figure i can only go a few passes

how safe am i to go a little ferther how long should i work the area the 3m stuff dries pretty fast

I know how you feel. I just do this for fun too. It definitely requires a lot of practice and experience. Don't underestimate bird-bombs especially if they sat there for three years. It will eat right through clear coat. My girlfriend has a silver Acura. There was a "bomb" I just couldn't get out. Finally I used SSR3 and that got it out.

I recently used Menzerna Power Finish 203 and it immediately removed some etched bombs and finished up like a pure finishing polish. Very impressive offering.
