After all the heartbreak, a new best friend.

Thats great dave. All dogs deserve a second chance.
My girlfriend and I are in the process of adopting a boxer.
We took our boxer Rocket for training last week, we asked the trainer if he knew of any boxers up for adoption we want rocket to have a playmate. He asked around in the dog community and found one, he sent us a picture. He was a nice looking dog but the fur around the neck looked funny. We asked what was wrong with him. He told us the dog had came from a very bad situation some A****le had actually lit the dog on fire. He is in a foster home rehabing. I cant believe some humans have no heart towards dogs. All they want is love and to please you. So next weekend we are going take our dog Rocket to meet him. If they get along his coming home with us.

That's terrible. As mygreat friend who is a dog trainer says,"dogs are fanged and clawed beasts that by nature want to kill. It is through strong laedership and consistant proper training by humans that they don't kill." I told him that's a good way of looking at it and he told me, "to look at it any other way is just denial and makes you vulnerable to be attacked."

Now of course he was speaking in terms of rehabilitating a dog with issues.

Just saying all of this to say, "a dog who was lit on fire will most likely have some very serious trust issues." Be careful to watch for signs of aggression toward other people, especially if he/she sees someone that looks like the monster that did that to him/her.

I just don't know what's wrong with some people.

Kudos to you for giving the dog a better life.:dblthumb2:

Thanks for the tip dave. Here is a picture. Our boy Rocket is on the right. And potenial adoptee is on the left. His name is Jax. You can see the white on jax face still shows some scaring

If this one ever becomes aggressive with people, just avoid people.
