I noticed some of the items have been raised .I can understand stand a price hike but.keeping in line with the cost of gas prices.

Megs leather cleaner $9.99 Reg 5.49 to $6.00
The OXO Feather brush went from $9.99 to $12.99

I love AG and have purchased many items in 8 months and CS may be the same or above other sponsored vendors but, this seems to be on par with what were seeing with the gas prices $$$$. with the 10 % discount the prices still far exceed what the cost of the item would sell for.

Well I'm sure since the cost of gas has gone up it literally is effecting everything. If fuel cost rise that means shipping cost rise. Fuel is need to ship that cargo to AG so they can ship it to us. That's two hits on shipping they take.
Or I could be completely wrong. Just my $.02

but WE pay shipping from AG.... that means they only take one hit on shipping costs. Also, while gas prices have increased, (if its accurate) 9.99 to 12.99 is a HUGE increase when you multiply it by each brush. gas isnt that high....

Joe as always you are on your toes! :p Yes a few of our items have experienced an increase. And yes I would love to explain the reasons behind some increases. First the OXO did not increase it went off sale. We had most OXO items on sale for a couple of months but now due to difficulties from the supplier (OXO Corporation) we are experiencing a problem with keeping the OXO items in stock. If you search online you will find all large companies are currently out of stock of these items. We hope that OXO will clear up their difficulties they are experiencing and get the shipments out ASAP. As for Raggtopp soon you will notice an increase going into effect for that product line too. Raggtopp just announced the increase to us and we will hold out as long as we can before we have to pass that increase on to the consumer. Currently anything that is coming overseas has also experienced an increase in pricing. :(
And as you know gas has gone up, and most shipping companies are passing that lovely cost on to the clients. We are doing are best to keep the prices competitive the best we can for our customers. Since our volume is so high we tend to experience the increases before some of the smaller companies. Our orders are more frequent to the suppliers so we encounter the increases before the smaller companies do.

This is why it is important that you sign up for the newsletters and take advantage of our monthly specials, also visit our special values section to cash in on some of our great deals.

Again thank you for taking note, and I hope this explains better to you why we have to do what we do. As all of you know, it is our number one priority to take care of you, our customers in the best manner we can. So we will continue to absorb as much of the increase we can before having to pass it on to our valued customers.

If in the next 30 days or so if you find a product that is increased by us before others, give me a call, I will see what I can do for you. ;)

Well stated, Meghan, and thanks for clarifying.

:)
That’s what we are here for Jeff; we want to keep everyone up to date with honest and valuable information. :D And next time you go to buy gas, here is something to think about had a customer call from Canada told me gas in his area for over $4 a gallon. So as gramda always use to say, "it could be worse". :)

Just my two cents to add if I may... When you buy gas too, try as much as possible to buy it at night or early morning before the heat of the day. Alot of gas is evaporated into the air while going into your tank and the amount of evaporation accelerates as the heat index goes up. Also keeping it at 55 mph saves gas. I don't know how many of you can drive 55 I know myself I mostly am at the 65-75 range, but I have read that you lose 20 cents on the gallon for every 5 miles you go over 55. So 60mph you would lose 20 cents 65 mph 40 cents and so on. There is also a government web site with tips on how to save gas and increase your fuel efficiency while driving. The link is :

Hope this is helpful. :D

Very helpful thanks, unfortunately I drive over 70 everyday while getting to work, think I might need to move if the gas gets any higher

LOL! I hear you! I do the same thing. I think to drive less than 70-75 on I95 would cause and accident! But maybe somebody out there is capable of it!
take care

I don't know if that's possible in South FL, anything less then 80 on I-95 and you'll get rammed by a Semi :D . The other day I had my cruise on 85 in my truck and I was still getting passed

I believe it! eheheh Dang! How many Floridians are on this forum I wonder? I'll bet I'm the only one who's 4 generations. I'm from Fort Lauderdale, mom's from Tampa, grandma was from Tampa, great grandma was from Key West, before that Spain. :) My daughter is now the 5th generation of Florida girls in my family!

I'm glad I live further south. Although its hard to stay within the limit.

I think that prices are being adjusted on alot (I see it at the grocery store, baby food and diapers) of items. The manufacturers are also increasing prices for gas, storage, and the items (components) needed prior to the item getting onto AG's shelves. 100.00 a gallon for crud is not that far off ...

Further South than Florida?? Where are you Cuba?? LOL
Actually yes! j/k
I mean SW of your area. I'm hear in naples.

I didn't start this thread to be disrespectful in anyway. I love shopping here and Jason has been a lot of help and AG CS is Top Notch but $3.00 To $ 4.00 increase on $ 5.00 items is a bit more then keeping up with the cost of living .Another site i lurke sells Megs lower then many vendors.I also dont mind paying for good CS but add $ 2, 3, 4 per item at Ten items and your at$30.00 more then where you should be, total in your 10% Discount and where at $ 27.00 without shipping. Mehgan other vendors are at the same $$ as of yet but i will watch to see if other vendors increase their prices as well.

killrwheels@autogeek This may be true but lets ask the members who support this forum how much of a pay increase they received in the past year?
