AG and gas has gone way up!!!

I love shopping at Autogeek because they have a GREAT selection of products and typically very competitive pricing. However, I really don't expect them to have the best price on everything. So, I try to be mindful of what a product costs elsewhere just in case I'm not getting the best price.

For example, in my last order I bought a bottle of Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer. I had no idea what I last paid for this product, but the Autogeek price of $6.99 sounded about right. So, I ordered it because I was getting other things anyway. Of course, I also paid for shipping even though I know this a product I can get locally almost anywhere. Well, I was in an local auto parts store yesterday and saw that they sold the same product in the same size for $4.44 regular price. I wasn't terribly pleased about it, but I blamed myself for not knowing what the prices were and not Autogeek for selling it at a higher price.

Overhead is a killer. I help a buddy of mine run his computer business and I hate selling somebody something I know they can get cheaper elsewhere by doing a little research. Unfortunitly do to the high overhead I just can't. Running a business is quiet stressful.

Sounds like you got a good price on that Meg's QID. I've never seen it for less than $5.49 at the auto stores where I live.

Back to topic, fortunately for me any price increases at AG get offset by my ability to pickup from them and avoid shipping charges that I would be subject to at other vendors. My last purchase included a gallon of OCW that cost $8 more than a competitor, but again not only shipping but all of the free stuff I've gotten from AG (detailfest, contest giveaways, free product advice, etc.) much more than makes up for any price increase.

PS: I had a document of prices and links of detailing stuff I on my wish list that I was gonna buy and some Chemical Guys stuff went up significantly in the last few months. They're still a great bargain, but as an example their hardcore paste wax went from $12.50 up to $17.23 in the last couple of months since I created my list.

well i think im third gen native? ah whatever lol. anyways yea costs of everything have gone up. gas, minumum wage, and even though i havent ordered from AG yet, i know i will because even if i pay a little more, ive seen the service they provide their customers and its phenomenal. sometimes that type of stuff makes it worth a little more. sometimes you do have to pinch pennies though, im not saying ill buy everything from them because some places will have much better prices on certain products but they have good prices on other products too.
