AG: ANYTHING but peanuts! Please...

We use paper and peanuts, we actually split it down the middle between the two depending on what's in the box. But you have the option just let us know which you prefer.

Great. Next order I am specifying that I want my products wrapped and protected with soft microfiber blankets.

I like this idea and it would work so much better too! :props:

I'm sure Autogeek would use only the finest towels to ensure the products safety on the bumpy ride to you and they'll be glad to adjust your total accordingly!!

I think Autogeek really needs to make this more known like a check box option when you check out

:surrender:
This. A check box or a drop down box where you enter your shipping info, where the default selection is "Please select one" so you can't continue the order without picking if you want paper or peanuts would be wonderful. I forget most of the time to add in the comment section

the peanuts do create a lot of static also and sticks to everything, especially the small bits.

seriously can't stand the peanuts. Other online shops used the crumpled paper (AG has used it in my orders a couple times). SO SO SO SO much better.

I think this fits into the "How do you know if you're a true AutoGeek fan" thread...

If your street has a light covering of white peanuts after the garbage truck dumps your empty boxes into the back of the truck... you know you're a true AutoGeek fan!

Bringing back a dead thread......I got a package today that had those "cornstarch" peanuts.....it was nice being able to throw them in the sink , turn on the water and watch them disapear. I suppose there is a down side to them to....but there gone in a minute.

I also got a package delivered today but the static from the peanuts drive me crazy. I kept a can of Static Guard and sprayed the peanuts and that helped get rid of some of the static.

Whatever happened to the plastic wrap with the small bubble/air pockets. That we're fun as a kid to pop:p

These are so much better. There was a reason why they didn't catch on, and it was a pretty horrible one if I remember. It didn't have anything to do with the environment, something else about their cost or possibly a lawsuit of some sort.

Very nice to know we can specify using paper as packing material. I hate those peanuts since they always have a charge that causes them to cling to everything. Another plus for paper packing is more environment friendly.

This is why I have a spray bottle with WGRTDEKS (Wolfgang Repel Those Damnable Electrons Kind Sir) detailing spray.

What? Don't pretend like you didn't know that acronym!

No seriously I have 91% isopropyl alcohol that magically kicks electron ass.

Actually you can just use plain water too. I use the alcohol to clean and disinfect things around the house so I just use that since I don't have just plain water in a spray bottle. The idea is just to get the peanuts, and anything they are stuck to, wet.

Bonus, alcohol dries faster than plain water so everything doesn't stay wet. By the time it dries you're done with the peanuts.

I vote for caramel popcorn in the boxes. Detail supplies and a snack, all in one package. Win, win!

Either that or Cheese Puffs!

Probably because they are Cheese Puffs without the cheese!

Seriously, though its nice to learn about the packing options.

They are by farrrr the best packing material as far as safety I wouldn't trade them for anything!

Is that still true? My company bought a machine that inflates those air pillow things and since then, our damage notices from UPS have gone down considerably. The leftover peanuts just sit in a corner how. The materials which are "fed" into the machine to make the air pillows are cheaper than peanuts also. While the materials are cheap, I was not here when the machine that inflates the pillows was purchased. It may be prohibitively expensive for a company that does not do 2,500-4,000 shipments a day like we do.
