Ordered one from the store mostly because it looked fun. Got it in the mail a couple days ago and busted it out today. I really had fun washing the truck with it. My neighbor came by and was asking me about it as well. It gave me an opportunity to tell him about the business launch next month.
I also coated my tires with PERL today so I'll let you know what I think of it in a couple weeks. As for now the tires look great. I'll try and post some before after shots in a bit.

glad to see to enjoy your new foam gun, i really like mine as well. also, i love PERL and find it very versatile...

My first time using PERL. I obviously don't have really nice wheels but the tire turned out pretty darn good. I do need a product to clean the middle cover better. It's still very hazy.

:props: I highly recommend getting half gallon. :xyxthumbs:

The foam gun is the only way I wash my own rigs.

Going to wash my truck bright and early tomorrow morning using the foam gun, if it's daylight out, I'll take some pictures.

Did it. Washed the truck starting at 6:00am this morning. Completely dark outside. Local Police Officer stopped by to see what I was doing. :D

Took some pictures with the flash on, not sure if they turned out or not I'll post them later.

Also machine waxed her using Speed and the 3401. I coated the tires at least 6-8 months ago and they still look great after a simple washing.

She's all shined up and it's only 7:30 in the morning. Time to top her off with gas and head to Tampa.

Mike,

Is there a preferred method to washing a 'coated' tire? I was unsure of what to use both product wise (soap, cleaner, etc) and tool (brush, mitt, sponge, etc) that would freshen up the tire without taking off the coating. Thanks!

I've had one for 2+ years now - one of the best purchases.

I prefer Chemical Guys Snow Foam for soap and find you only need to add enough to hit the bottom of the label mixed with warm water for the perfect foaming action.

This was a really cool post. It's the weekend, most of us are free to do what we all love including Mike Phillips.. He was outside early morning washing his truck just like you and I would be doing. And he finished at 7:30am and you think, "wow he really is a normal guy who washes his truck just like I wash mine".
Everything feels great doesn't it😊

Until you factor in that^ small part and realize you're not on his level! Lol😌😃

LOL, very very true!

How long you gonna be in Tampa?

Just long enough to drop off my truck for a new project...

LOL! Great story! I hope you told him to watch you on Competition Ready!

Fosho...

He was just making sure everything was cool.

Thanks!

I just used the soap in the Foam Gun which was XMT Shampoo Gel & Conditioner and a Wheel Woolies Tire Brush (my favorite brush).

I took a picture of the tires after they were washed and dried and the last time I coated the tires was 6-8 months ago easily.

I tried to get to her all week after work just too much going on. Couldn't drop the truck of dirty or without a good shine.

:)
