AG Order Processing Heads up

First off I want everyone who reads this post to understand I am a gigantic fan of AG, and they have always bent over backwards for me. In addition to the great products, I have always bragged about their customer service. However, following a circumstance that just occurred, I feel compelled to document and let others know as a heads up, so hopefully the same situation may avoided with them.

The AG webpage indicates “Orders must be placed by 2:00 p.m. EST to ship out the same business day.” If you are depending on this occurring, it is wise that you call AG and specifically request the order to be shipped out the same business day (pending availability of product, of course). I was counting on this occurring in order to use some AG products for a weekend project, and since the order was not processed until the next business day my weekend project will be delayed.

(By the way, I did speak to AG Customer Service to confirm date/time order received and the date they shipped the package, not to mention the UPS Quantum record and AG emails confirm this as well.)

To be fair, that statement is actually saying "orders placed after 2 will not ship the same day". It's not saying orders placed by 2 WILL ship the same day, it's just saying that if the order is placed AFTER 2, they WON'T.

I would agree that it's a little misleading, but you seem to have interpreted the statement to mean "orders placed by 2 will be shipped the same day", which is definitely not what the statement says.

Since this is not the first time this has come up, perhaps AG should modify the wording to be more clear.
 
I think I remember reading a post about shipping and comments. If you type anything in the comments line "no peanuts, free banner", etc. it causes a delay in shipping. Maybe that is what nailed you. Sorry for your troubles though.
 
For about 95% of the time your order will ship same day if placed by 2pm EST, there are some factors that will on occaision do not hold true for that. One could be the item ran out of stock that morning, or customer put a note in the comments box which requires us to pull the order up, read comment, address the comment and then release the order, OR we could have had a crazy sale over the weekend and we are buried in your orders! Either way we give 120% to make sure you get your orders fast, I know we had a full crew working late every night till 8 or 9pm just to get the orders out from the sale. We do our best but if you know you need an order to ship that day just call us, we will make it happen for you but we wont know unless you let us know!
We have a great customer service crew here and they would be more than willing to get you your items out the door ASAP! Im the MAN

Meghan... Thanks for your addition. I agree 120% with every point you have made. I just want to people to know that if they have their heart-set of getting their stuff in a certain time frame, make a call instead of making an assumption :-)

Well, I placed an order this Saturday. I eventually got the email that it was UPS ticket was created around 7pm so I figured it would not get it out that day given the sales or possibly something had sold out.

Amazingly, I get another email saying it was picked up so I checked and it had made it to Jacksonville so it was delivered on Wed. So UPS did pick up very late on Monday. I guess they knew it had 2 DF T-shirts with the UPS logo on them.
 
I'm still waiting on my order to be delivered (after 3 days of processing) we are on day 8. good thing I didnt pay extra to have to delivered faster.

Usually (I'm speaking generally about businesses, I don't know how AG handles this) when you pay for expedited delivery the shipment priority is moved up. What I'm saying is that it is unlikely you would have 3 days of processing if you had paid for expedited delivery.
 
Ag Does a great Job....during the last sale while Meghan was gone, I ordered on Sunday and package was at the door Wednesday when I got home...which suprised me because I allways order on the weekend and it's usually thursday or friday before it arrives.

As my wife always says Plan ahead!
 
It's part of doing business via mail order. You have to allow for mishaps or delays in shipping (including processing). Most people buy via mail order because of cheaper pricing, no tax, and more variety. The trade-off is possible delays. Plan for it and you'll sleep better. If it's that urgent, expedite or support a local shop.

In all fairness to AG, I hope this thread wasn't started on an order that received free shipping.
 
I placed an order 2 Saturdays ago, hoping I could do some work this past weekend. I got no shipping info and inquired via email the following Tuesday. On Wednesday I got a backorder email saying it should ship within 4 days. Got shipping notification today saying it should be here Thursday. Maybe my expectations are too high, but if the item is on backorder and the system can't alert you prior to finishing the order, I would expect that the backorder email could/should be sent out that day or the next. (Not 4 days later). Ok, done venting.
 
well, why not go to the store that's local to you if you needed it fast 70chevelle?
