AG still setting off anti-virus alerts!

^ yes, that is one of the two pop ups, the other was free shipping...

Yes, that's it. Perhaps it's legit. I also get one from detailed image dot com.

Yep. That's the one I get. Yellow, Red, Black lettering. I may have stated free shipping but that was incorrect. its just 15% off instant coupon upon e-mail address submission.

So now is this a legitimate promotion from "AGO" or have they been hacked so as to steal email address for spaming? I don't believe we qualify or is a legitimate promotion, due to the frequency the pop up occurs.

I strongly suggest saying "NO THANKS" until confirmed legitimate, by AGO.

I get the same thing when visiting on my phone. I figured it wasn't AGO since it didn't say "free shipping on orders over $150". I'm thinking its an ad injection attack.

i haven't seen this but then again i run ABP on firefox so i miss a lot of that sort of stuff.

Still awaiting a pm from Mehgan as requested in an earlier post, or from another moderator.

AG moderators where are you?

AGO Is this your annoying handiwork?

The "code" page was too large for jpeg, allowed here.

You should have no difficulty in identifying this as friendly promotion. Does this have to do with, what we signed up for Special member subscribers?

Should this not be your code & were hacked, I can understand the reluctance to post "ANYTHING" for fear of widespread panic! And I would bet your working feverishly to correct.

this is what i get

That's us. :dblthumb2:

If you plug this into your browser without quotes, it will bring up the pop-up. In question.

If you use a pop up/ad blocker solution is easy.

According to Nick it belongs to AG.

Has this been resolved? Still shows up on my end.
AG staff, maybe this can help. Please view link, Autogeek is in infected.

well, i went full bore with my anti-virus provider company contact and they looked into it extensively.

after looking deeply at exemplar links on autogeekonline.net, this is what they said:

"There is malicious URL in source code evgeneevich.com"

so, admin, if you need more info, please let me know. i am not sure why that would be tied into this site in any capacity, but that's what they said and i am convinced they know what they are talking about.

im lookin into it now.

Avast goes crazy with many pages in the forum. I realize that I can make an exception in Avast for autogeek, but given Avast is a reputable anti-virus program, makes me a little cautious when so many pages are stopped.

Agreed, many google links redirect to www.evgeneevich.com which is a malware site.

This latest one, when I googled "autogeek nano vs clay" and clicked on the the detailing forum link (2nd search result on page) it attempted a redirect to above mentioned site.

Sent it off to Google as well as BIZCN.com which is that domains registrar to shut them down.

right, this is exactly what avast! personnel identified as being the culprit.

Virus Bulletin latest test results:

Reactive = user initiated scan

Proactive = Automatically blocking malware (notification area icon)

The winner this test is "Avira Pro" as it's further-st to the right, higher (graph) than the competition.

The losers further-st to the left & lowest on the (graph) are "Angitum & Defenx"

So in addition to blocking "all" that the losers block, "Avira Pro" would block, additional items that, even "Avast" would miss.

Previously mentioned was 360 Total AV (always free), which consistently, bests Avast. Qihoo is mfg of 360 Total.

Troubling here is: KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security & EIS (Emsisoft Internet Security) further slippage, down & left.

Virus Bulletin results are consistent with other testers results, AV Comparatives, Consumers Reports, etc.

Tests are run quarterly, on mfg's products who choose, to compete, for bragging rights.

when i click on an autogeek forum link via google search - please see highlighted area. that is what i see prior to the link showing up.

PLEASE NOTE: this is with the exception for this site entered in avast!. if i didn't have that exception, it would instantly give me a warning and not connect. what is in that highlight box is what the avast! tech identified as the problem and what has been mentioned above by someone else.

The forums load agonizingly slow on my desktop. The store works and loads fast. Not sure what's up with the forum?
