Hey everyone,
I'm new to this detailing craze and not sure if this is the correct place to pose the question.

I wanted to get some input about AG products vs 5 Star Shine. I heard a lot of stuff about these products but don't know what direction I should go.

Your help is greatly needed.
Thanks

I heard of 5* Shine but never used it. I think that it is a high durability sealant, but it won't last 5 years like they claim.

Using the search feature brought up nine pages. Give it a try for lots of reading & info.

I'm sure you know which products you are referring to. With the exception of the Navy using 5 Star's product I don't see a lot of talk about 5 Star. I do see quite a few references on 4 Star products. Just curious to know where you are hearing the information you are picking up.

I was doing a search for car care products and came across 5 Star, looked pretty interesting and impressive and I also saw all the AG results. I was just wondering if this 5 Star were any good, even if it doesn't last 5 years, longer durability is a factor or even using the products together.

won't last 5 years. Won't last 4. Won't last 1. IMHO

There is a local 'detailer' shop here that pushes that crap.

I guess I'm not going to get much feedback, or you all think its not worth it. Pretty hostile forum.

Hostile? Hardly! There are hundreds of products sold by Autogeek and you are asking folks to compare them to one specific product.......not really feasible.

5 star and others like it that make far fetched claims don't receive much play here. I won't dump on it because I've never used it but I don't believe the claims for one minute.

just another paint sealant .... if you are looking for durability then consider any sealant we carry and add some polycharger.

Just buy the 5 Star and use it. It must be good if it lasts 5 years.

I don't think anything said was ANY where close to being hostile. Claims from a product, where one application a year is all, sounds sketchy. But hey, what do we know.

Insted of using the 5 star stuff I just spread a really thing layer of super glue to protect for about 3.5 years and its half the cost.

PS not really Im just messing with ya, but I really dont see anything holding up for 5 years but I guess it could almost might be possible

i think i'm detecting a mole...

hehe, either way, on my acura forum, 5 star is talked about and the inexperience seem to think that its a decent product but others who are weather in detailing feel otherwise. ive never used it personally, so i cant comment.

Overrated, overwritten site descriptions, lackluster performance from past reviews I've read. I seriously doubt saving a few bucks and hours of effort are worth it over a period of "5" Years.
