Are all AIO's cleaner waxes? and are all cleaner waxes considered AIO's? Also, since I'm working by hand (or with the Meg's DA Power System) should I stick to OTC AIO products?
I'm interested in XMT 360 but I'm unsure if it's effective when used by hand. I do have Meg's Cleaner Wax on my shelf as a go to product. I would appreciate any advice or opinions/experiences. Thanks- 'Gus

Just gonna toss this out for info...If you want to stay with "OTC" (or other wise) AOI, give Meguiar's "White Wax" a look see.

I'm really impressed with it's cleaning ability and what it looks like afterwards.

Some AdvancedAuto stores carry the Griots Garage One-Step Sealant. I found this AIO to produce really good results. The protection doesn't last very long, but it looks amazing while it lasts.
 
XMT360 is specifically designed to be used with a DA polisher. You will not be able to get the full effect of that product by hand.

All AIO's will also clean paint, but not all cleaner waxes have the ability to remove defects.

My personal recommendation is stay away from the DA power system and get an actual dual action polisher. Additionally, to get true defect removal, its nearly impossible to accomplish that by hand. Therefore, if you intend on only doing anything by hand, a cleaner wax is sufficient.

Thanks Bill. I had heard that even on dark paint Meg's White gives great results.

Jaretr1- Thanks for that input. The DA Power System was a Christmas gift last year so I thought it would be an option. A DA is in the works but I may not be able to get it before winter. This is a DD and while I have fairly high expectations, I realize that with my limited time, I would not achieve the results that I envision.
 
White wax is great on any color. I've used it on black with very good results.

I haven't used the regular cleaner wax in years. I like the fact that white wax has SMAT abrasives in it giving it some correction power. It's been stated over on the Meguiar's forum that white wax used the same type of SMAT abrasives found in M101. I did white wax with a DA and a cutting pad when I used it.


I'm sure you have seen this before.

I use a lot of Meguiar's M66 Quick Detailer, which is the professional version of ColorX, which still have a few bottles of. I always get great results from M66. It foes a nice job cleaning, and polishing the paint. For whatever reason I seem to like the protection of M66 more than ColorX, but it could just be me. I normally use it on a white polishing pad.

I did do one car recently with White Wax, a Lake Country Tangerine Hydrotech pad, and a Flex 3401.... Very surprised with the level of correction I got out of the combination. I see this car every day, and it appears the protection has held up all summer.

Over on MOL. Mike Stoops did a demo using White Wax to show its' correction abilities. In a word, WOW!

The only thing I do dislike about it (White Wax) is the container. It comes in a tube, much like those metal old tubes that tooth paste came it.
