Hello AG brothers and sisters! I wanted to share this new video with you that I just had made showing an Airstream we turned around. Please tell me what you think! Thanks in advance,

Well would you look at that - ITS DAVE! How have you been man?!?!? Long time no talk. Yes sir it is Aluminum which we had to strip the clear coat, cut out all the oxidation (multiple cuts), and polish all the holograms out to a mirror shine. ALOT of work sir! Man, great hearing from you and we'll have to catch up over the phone sometime.

Did you chemically remove the old clear or polish it off. That isn't a regular clear on those things is it?

It is a thick hard clear - and yes we had to chemically strip it off - most Airstreams we do have clear on them even if they are the older ones despite them not having clear originally. Many panels get replaced over the years so if going to quote an Airstream you always want to find out which panels are cleared and which aren't...... adds ALOT of work to the job.

I looked at one and it almost looked like a plastic coating. What did you put on it for protection? Thing looks like a mirror.

Finish polish has a sealant in it (not sold here so won't mention it by name) But we also topped it off with Collonite Metal Wax for extra protection.

Thank you sir. Yes they are big projects and take us about 200 man hours give or take 50 man hours. But they are satisfying when finished ;)

The jobs you and your guys do always impress me. Doing well my friend. Yes it has been a little while since we spoke on the phone. You know you can call anytime as always, and I know that goes both ways.

I appreciate everyone's kind words - Its hard to put SO many man hours into a short video lol. When we put that many hours into a project like this it makes me want to make a documentary :buffing:
 
that looks great man! i have always wondered about polishing one myself but that will most likely never happen. great job!
