Alcohol Wipe Down?

Is 50/50 the correct ratio for a wipe down for dust after polishing? Do you use a spray bottle or just soak a mf? Will getting it on trim stain or discolor? Feed back please

The purpose of it isnt to remove dust. Its to remove oils from the polish to get the surface ready for sealant. To remove dust, I just rinse the car off with the hose. 50/50 is correct. In a spray bottle on the surface, then wipe off with MF. Will not stain or discolor trim. You can actually use it to clean trim and rubber.

I believe 50/50 is the correct ratio. You can spray it on the panel or towel either way is fine. Can't help you with the trim staining as I've never done that. Just as a side note I get mine at the 99 cent store. Two 12oz bottles for 99 cents and its 50% ISO by volume so its already mixed at the right ratio, I find that convenient.

thats right ... alcohol is already water down when sold. Try to use the 70% versus 90%, or you will need more water. And yes it is really done for removing fillers and oils, but will work with dust in a pinch as will most qd'er's.

Thank you for the correction. I meant oils in the op after polishing. Won't the alcohol dry out rubber parts?

I got mine at CVS, 91%.
