"Alien clean" leaving white streaks on your wheels?

So I've been meaning to post about this for a while now but after talking with my buddy Derek (Derek0609) and he dropped me txt about how it stained his wheels. I will say first that we both have the Megs wheel protectant on our wheels but he used Griot's wheel cleaner on the other 2 wheels and it didn't streak or as much. Our ratio's are 3:1 too and I will say this, my wheel got stained too, had to bust out my Griot's machine polish #2 to get them back to their former glory, used by hand the stains came right out.

So, have you guys had any issue with "Alien clean" aka Optimum Power Clean, LOL!

Just lookin' for confirmation, is it the "Alien clean" or that crap I sprayed on my wheels from Meguiars?

Do you mean they got chalky? I've only really had that happen with Megs W/B on some wheels. With OPC it hasn't happened. What kind of wheels where they? Clear Coated I assume? Was there any curb rash?

Why do you call is "Alien Clean"?

If you're talking about Meg's Break Dust barrier, it will definitely leave white streaks on the tires. As soon as the stuff dries you need to follow up with your favorite tire topping.

I drive an Audi so I'm intimately familiar with Meg's product. Same
goes for Armor All's product.

It was my wheels, clear coated Mazdaspeed3 wheels. I bought a can of the Megs Brake Dust Barrier over the winter and it seems I get white streaking when I clean my wheels. I ran out a few car washes ago but when I used OPC on my rims yesterday the streaking was HORRIBLE, 4 times as bad as it had been. I had to break out Klasee AIO to rub the streaks out! I assume it's the MBDB, never had an issue before I used it. I can say I am done with it!

Hey Derek, I think its the coating we've sprayed on our wheels, I'm going to try OPC on Hectour's wheels this morning, so we'll see how it goes there. I just need that stuff to wear off and be done with that coating, we don't need no stickin' coatings........we keep our cars clean, that stuff is for lazy people who don't take care of their cars, lesson learned for sure!
