Trying a new way to load photos since the upload photo link is still giving me issues so please bare with me....
I got this customer in for a Smog Check and noticed their scuff. Long story short, they agreed to have me do it while they waited in line. It was a quick job but I did my best to preserve the existing paint. Some spots were a little more stubborn after using a medium clay bar. I went to wet sanding with 2500, 3000, M101, and then Essence since I already had that on a pad with the current car I was working on. No progress shots as I was in a hurry.
The customer said he was going to use brake fluid to remove it. I've never heard of that, and thought maybe he was thinking of brake cleaner. A guy I know will spray it down with brake cleaner and wipe it off with whatever oily rag he has lying around.
I'm wondering if using this method (clean towel)but following up with a good wash and polish would be a better route. Seems like it would remove less paint then the technique I used. Is there an aggressive approach like this but is AG acceptable?
